IDeAs has been working with ProspectSV, Redwood Energy and Lawrence Berkeley Labs on the big issue of cost effectively electrifying existing homes. Just in California there are estimated to be nearly 10M existing homes that have services 60A or below. I first looked into this issue in a grant funded study over 10 years ago. Last month, we took a trip up to Straus Family Creamery’s facility in Rohnert Park, CA with some of our project team including Alter Engineers, IDeAs Consulting, Inc, and DMG North to walk through the demonstration site. The information gathered during this visit will help the mechanical and electrical engineers prepare design documents for the installation of the heat pump this Summer. ??
