RetCon 2025 Takeaways: AI, Scaling, and the Future of Property Tech Just wrapped up two days at RETCON, connecting with industry leaders and discussing the next wave of property tech. The biggest trends this year? AI, scaling, and tenant-driven solutions. Here are my takeaways: 1. AI is the name of the game right now. The conversation has shifted from if AI should be integrated to here’s how it’s a necessity. I’m eager to see how it will improve the leasing process with fraud detection, ID verification, etc. 2. Scaling is a top priority. Property management companies (PMCs) moving upmarket are leveraging AI and partnerships rather than hiring out. The challenge is part of an ongoing conversation: how to manage more rentals with fewer resources. 3. Payment trends are evolving. The future of rent collection is about meeting tenant demand while creating new revenue opportunities for PMCs. We may also see a shift towards alternative payment solutions beyond ACH. 4. Tenant-driven solutions are the next big revenue stream. More PMCs are exploring profit-sharing models, seeking growth opportunities beyond rent collection. The goal? Improved tenant experience and scalable revenue for property managers. 5. AI-driven technology is just getting started. We’re seeing exciting new AI developments in property tech. The question now is: where do we draw the line between automation and human support? The biggest takeaway from Retcon? All about efficiency. We’re already seeing AI-powered solutions transform real estate at PropertyTek, and we’re looking forward to more conversations.
