We’re the voice of the Australian property industry.
关于我们
As the leading advocate for Australia's largest industry, we champion a strong, thriving sector that leaves a positive legacy for all Australians. We are your strong voice. Representing the leaders of the largest industry and biggest employer in Australia, we work with our 2,300 company and business member organisations to advance our industry’s representation, reputation and impact. A thriving property industry underpins the health and sustainability of our cities, boosts consumer confidence, enables a buoyant business environment and ultimately creates a more prosperous Australia. Our industry creates and builds the places where people live, work, connect, learn and play. Contributing 13 per cent of Australia’s GDP, property is the nation’s largest industry, but it also enables hundreds of other industries to thrive. From logistics, manufacturing and mining to our small businesses, offices, shops and cafes, property is the backbone of Australia’s economy. Every day, our industry provides jobs for more than 1.4 million Australians – more than mining and manufacturing combined. Through our three-year strategy, we are working with members, allies, and all tiers of government to realise the enormous potential of this extraordinary industry, and our great capital and regional cities. We have a rich, proud history of delivering outcomes that improve the lives of all Australians and create places for all stages of life, from students to retirees. We are privileged to lead the sector and connect the industry to speak with a strong, united voice. Property Council of Australia Chief Executive is on CBRE Asia Pacific's Talking Property podcast listen below ???? #cbre #propertyaustralia #propertycouncilaus #property #immigration #skillsshortage #AI #housing
We’ve today launched the second podcast in CBRE Asia Pacific's Talking Property/Property Council of Australia Congress series. I hope you get a chance to tune in! Following on from my chat with The Demographics Group's data king Simon Kuestenmacher, I had the chance to speak to ISPT's Amanda Steele and the Property Council's Mike Zorbas about some of the key industry issues discussed at last month's Congress in Townsville. Listen in to find out why Australia is a little like Hugh Jackman in terms of being a triple threat (??), why offshore investors have more confidence than locals in Australian property investment opportunities, and on the flipside, why we still need to be concerned about the sovereign risk associated with ongoing property tax changes. Immigration, the skills shortage, whether we're shifting the dial on the housing crisis, and the opportunities and challenges associated with AI are also up for discussion. Thanks Mike and Amanda for your time. We covered a lot of ground! https://lnkd.in/gqr33rw7

BREAKING: Build-to-rent bills pass Senate The Treasury Laws Amendment (Responsible Buy Now Pay Later and Other Measures) Bill 2024 and Capital Works (Build to Rent Misuse Tax) Bill 2024 have passed through the Senate with amendments negotiated and supported by the Property Council of Australia. “The government’s?legislation is a welcome?investment in 80,000 new, secure rental?homes?over the next decade. This is the largest ever Federal supply of rental homes,” Property Council of Australia Chief Executive Mike Zorbas said. Passage of the legislation is the result of sustained Property Council advocacy and represents a welcome first step, but there is more to do to encourage build-to-rent supply. BREAKING: 80,000 new rental homes... That’s what is on the line today as the Senate considers the build-to-rent bills. Our Chief Executive Mike Zorbas joined Minister for Housing Clare O'Neil, David Pocock, Allegra Spender, Kylea Tink, Wendy Hayhurst and John Engeler to support the government’s amendments and call on the Senate to pass the bills. The Property Council of Australia will continue to advocate for ideal build-to-rent investment settings, more retirement living communities and more purpose-built student accommodation, noting the work of the next term of Federal parliament will be?helping states and territories to do the heavy lifting required under the welcome and ambitious 1.2 million home housing targets. #auspol #buildtorent #housing #rentalhomes #retirementliving #studentaccommodation Jane Fitzgerald Matthew Kandelaars Francesca Muskovic Gino Luglietti Allyse Wafer Rhys Prka Cath Evans, GAICD Jess Caire Bruce Djite Nicola Brischetto Katie Stevenson Ruth Palmer MBA Rebecca Ellston Ashlee Berry Antony Knep MREI Torie Brown Daniel Gannon
