We found that switching to small Autonomous Haul Trucks can increase the NPV of a mine by as much as 40%+ per a white paper we published with Whittle Consulting in 2023: https://lnkd.in/gKcGdWVa We've now worked with two different major metals mining companies who have independently arrived at similar numbers after conducting analyses for new sites being planned. Small trucks have a big autonomous future.

A hot take on the current state of Autonomous Vehicles from our CEO Anthony Levandowski - from Max Chafkin's Bloomberg story covering our Heidelberg Materials partnership announced today: Levandowski says any discussion of regulations is a distraction. “It is an excuse for why your technology isn’t ready to be deployed yet,” he says. “There’s not a regulatory blocker. There’s a definitely technology blocker. It doesn’t work everywhere.” That, he says, is why Pronto’s driverless trucks operate on closed sites rather than in the chaos of city traffic. “It’s back to the basics,” he says. The company is focusing “on the here and now, with an eye on what the future could look like.” One day, he says, that could mean autonomous cars everywhere on city streets; for now, it’s dump trucks hauling giant piles of rocks. https://lnkd.in/eg4bQRVM

Pronto landmark AHS deal with Heidelberg; continues cooperation with Komatsu Pronto, the #autonomoustechnology pioneer, has announced an agreement with Heidelberg Materials, one of the world’s largest integrated manufacturers of building materials & solutions, to deploy Pronto’s #AutonomousHaulage System (#ProntoAHS) to >100 trucks operating at Heidelberg Materials sites worldwide over the next three years. Pronto will also become Heidelberg Materials’ exclusive provider of autonomous technologies in North America under the deal. In addition, as part of Komatsu North America’s recent #QuarryDays2025, the global mining equipment OEM had a live demo of its HD605-10 truck, featuring #SmartQuarrySite, its quarrying/small to mid-sized mine total #fleetmanagement solution & Pronto’s AHS. Komatsu had partnered with Australia-based #FMS tech company iVolve Industrial Technology to develop Smart Quarry Site, then went on to acquire #iVolve in late 2023. Smart Quarry Site solution allows operators & site managers to pull data covering productivity, machine health, operator efficiency & everything a quarry operator needs to know, including idling & sustainability measures – all in real time. Pronto’s #AHS cooperation with Komatsu is developing in the quarrying class, and during the same Quarry Days event, Pronto stated that its AHS is currently operational on Komatsu’s #HD605 and #HD785 platforms, and that it will soon support all Komatsu rigid HD and articulated HM base trucks. This would include all of Komatsu’s rigid #mechanicaldrive trucks up to the HD1500. The HM trucks are the HM300 & HM400 articulated dump trucks (#ADTs). On #electricdrive rigid trucks, covering the 730E up to the 980E, Komatsu uses its own #FrontRunner AHS together with its Modular Mining #DISPATCH? FMS. Pronto AHS utilises advanced #artificialintelligence combined with a hardened camera system, "avoiding costly, complex #sensortechnologies such as radar and LiDAR," resulting in a system that can be deployed in a matter of weeks & Pronto says at a fraction of the cost of competitive systems. Back to the deal with Heidelberg & Axel Conrads, CTO & Member of the Managing Board of Heidelberg Materials stated: “Implementing industry leading technologies across our global footprint is an important driver of operational excellence & digital innovation at Heidelberg Materials.
