?? Shoutout to our South Texas Prominence team for taking strides—literally—toward healthier living during Diabetes Awareness Month! ???? ? Every Tuesday and Thursday in November, our team comes together for a quick 15-minute walk around our office building. These walks aren't just about getting steps in—they're a chance to learn from our ACO nurses about healthy habits, diabetes prevention, nutritious food choices, and overall health management.? ? The friendly faces in green are our staff, here to support and encourage each other. While this month’s focus is on diabetes awareness, we’re excited to see this initiative grow into a regular part of our team's wellness journey. ? ?#DiabetesAwareness #HealthierTogether #WellnessJourney

There’s no better time than now to get your flu shot, but with so much misinformation out there, it’s important to clear up a few common myths: Myth #1: The flu shot can give you the flu. This simply isn’t true. The flu vaccine contains inactivated virus or parts of the virus that can’t cause infection. Any mild symptoms like soreness or fatigue after the shot are normal signs of your immune system building protection. Myth #2: Healthy people don’t need the flu shot.? The flu can still hit hard even if you’re in good health. By getting vaccinated, you’re not only protecting yourself but also helping to prevent the spread of the flu to vulnerable people like young children, the elderly, or those with chronic health conditions. Myth #3: The flu shot doesn’t work. While flu vaccines may not provide 100% immunity, they significantly reduce the risk of serious illness, hospitalization, and death. Even if you still get the flu, your symptoms will likely be milder if vaccinated. Myth #4: It’s too late to get vaccinated. It’s never too late in the flu season to get your shot. Flu cases can peak at different times, and getting vaccinated now can protect you in the months ahead. Stay informed, stay protected, and book your flu shot today!

????? November is #COPDAwareness Month! COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) affects over 17 million Americans, with millions more possibly undiagnosed. Smoking is one of the top risk factors for this serious lung disease, but quitting can help slow its progression and make breathing easier. Early diagnosis is key to managing symptoms and improving quality of life. Did you know COPD is the third leading cause of death in the U.S., yet with the right care—like pulmonary rehab, lifestyle changes, and regular checkups—those affected can live longer, healthier lives. Let’s raise awareness, encourage screenings, and support those impacted by COPD. #BreatheBetter #ProminenceHealth

As the colder months approach, it’s the perfect time to prioritize health and well-being by getting a flu shot. Flu season typically peaks between October and March, and early vaccination is key to staying protected throughout the season. ? At Prominence Health, we’re committed to supporting healthier communities through preventive care. We encourage everyone—especially those most vulnerable, such as older adults and individuals with pre-existing conditions—to take this simple step to reduce the risk of illness this fall and winter. ? #FluAwareness #CommunityHealth #ProminenceHealth
