Our Promethean Outreach & Community Help (POrCH) program allows our Prometheans to volunteer in our community, in which we live, work and play. From packing meals for pets in need to engaging with youth at the Teddy Bear Clinic (and more!), we aim to build a deeper sense of community to make a difference, bringing “Good Living for the Greater Good” to life.?

A maker's lab, fitness center, clubroom and outdoor terrace are just some of Freewell's many amenities, housed in a striking two-story mass timber amenities pavilion. Residents have access to a study room, lounges, phone booths and a spin room as well as bike storage and underground parking to get around the city. Like the name suggests, this dynamic seven-story mixed-use building has all the elements for living well in the heart of NW Portland's Slabtown neighborhood. Man Yu started his Promethean journey 8 years ago, and since then he has made an incredible impact for our Neighbors and fellow Prometheans. Currently, he oversees our Office Services team, and was awarded our Home Office Promethean of the Year in 2023. ? “I had no idea about the culture, how easy it would be to get a job.” In Hong Kong, Man Yu spent 12 years of his life as a Building Surveyor for schools, conducting building inspections, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and overseeing maintenance and renovation projects. He practically lived and breathed buildings, knowing building management inside and out. But when he, his wife, and two children moved to the U.S. to be closer to family in 2016, his decades-long career came to a halt and he struggled to translate his Hong Kong credentials to match the U.S. style. Thankfully, his brother-in-law recommended Upwardly Global to help him overcome this roadblock.
