Integrating Technology to Deliver Safe Operations? ? At Promethean Energy we are very excited to be piloting Detect Technologies’ latest AI product in the GOM. This is the very first of its kind offshore – the application of visual intelligence and machine learning to identify and analyze unsafe conditions round the clock. As we proceed with the abandonment of Orphan Wells on behalf of BSEE, we are confident that this will enhance our ability to identify and address risks to safety and environmental performance on a 24/7 basis. Having tools that can facilitate and improve our ability to manage such risks from orphan infrastructure is critical. Integrating leading edge technology into our decommissioning programs is a differentiating aspect of Promethean’s strategy and operating model. As we remove hazards to safety and the environment by decommissioning orphaned infrastructure, we look forward to assessing progress with this pilot as we complete our program at Matagorda Island and move on to subsequent blocks. #GOM #decommissioning #oilandgas #energytransition

Promethean is proud to have executed make safe activities and repairs for orphan facilities in the Matagorda Island area on behalf of BSEE. The typically dilapidated condition of such infrastructure made these activities especially challenging. Our operator mindset - best-in-class safety, environmental and operational performance - is aimed at managing and not transfering risk. And this together with our innovative approach was key. We undertook a drone-based laser scan which enabled us to digitize the structures in order to develop safe boarding plans and make safe procedures. #decommissioning #GOM

Best Practice - Campaigning Opportunities in Decommissioning For offshore decommissioning, campaigning is where two or more parties agree to work together to achieve defined and shared objectives in the execution of their separate decommissioning requirements. Collaborative contracting is a key component of campaigning and provides an opportunity to identify and solidify alignment between participating companies and to unlock the benefits that can accrue from campaigning. The benefits from campaigning synergies can include not just cost savings but also safety, efficiency, schedule and cash flow management. At Promethean we see campaigning as a best practice and differentiating element of our operating model and strategy to be implemented where feasible. Campaigning also aligns with our approach to transparency, trust, innovation and integration of people and data. ? Pleased to have been able to demonstrate some of our differentiated approach with the application of innovative technology and best practices as we kick off this project.

The oil and gas industry confronts some familiar if evolving challenges as it looks to the future – reliably and cost-effectively meeting demand while addressing expectations relating to the energy transition and sustainability more broadly. One issue that has typically attracted less attention historically is that of mature oil fields and their ultimate decommissioning. Optimizing remaining production from often neglected mid to late-life fields can help meet ongoing demand without new exploration while helping offset the burgeoning costs and obligations of decommissioning oil and gas infrastructure. Applying best practices, technology and management focus to these challenges can help provide better outcomes for the industry, governments, and society as a whole. An orderly energy transition over the coming decades requires ongoing demand to be met and redundant infrastructure to be decommissioned in responsible and cost-effective ways. This task is core to?Promethean Energy’s strategy which is focused on mature assets, and also feeds the agenda of the Decommissioning & Abandonment GOM Conference next week in Houston.
