Project Next hosted Interview Skills Day today at Escondido High School Escondido Union High School District and Escondido Charter High School, where 89 students had the opportunity to practice their interview skills with 45 incredible local professionals from companies like Baker Electric, UC Design Lab, Neighborhood Healthcare, Harrah's Resort Southern California, Viasat, Dr. Bronner's, @BeLocal North County Magazine, U.S. Bank, Palomar Health, CSUSM College of Business, and more. These students walked away with more than just interview tips—they gained confidence, real-world connections, and a stronger understanding of how to tell their stories in a professional setting. Huge thanks to all the mentors who shared their time, experience, and encouragement! We’re incredibly grateful for our new partnerships and are beyond excited for the upcoming openings of our Future Centers on these two campuses—more to come soon! Next up: Our First Job Fair on April 22nd! We’re excited to partner with San Diego Workforce Partnership and San Diego North Economic Development Council (SDNEDC) to help students land their first part-time jobs! If your company is hiring part-time employees (especially for summer positions), we’d love to have you there! Financial Aid: Opening Doors to Opportunity For many high school students, financial aid is the key to unlocking their next steps—whether that’s college, trade school, or another pathway. But too often, lack of access, misinformation, and uncertainty stand in the way. That’s why Project Next is committed to making financial aid more accessible and less overwhelming. Thanks to the support of the San Diego Foundation, we’ve been able to bring on Adriana Toledo Marinez, our dedicated Financial Aid Coach, to help students at our partner schools navigate FAFSA, CA Dream Act, scholarships, and award letters with confidence.
