Our first volunteer spotlight of 2025 showcases Dana Minacapelli! Dana's tenured career in animal welfare started with a chance encounter with her local humane society during the start of her senior year at Stephen F. Austin State University. Since then, her responsibilities have grown from managing clinics and vet hospitals to her current role as Chief Operating Officer of Ivy Pets! Since learning about our work on social media in 2023, Dana has been instrumental in our efforts in the Brooklyn area where she helps connect veterinarians to families in need. Thank you Dana for helping lead our NYC team and for your dedication in helping ensure pets and their families receive judgement free care!

A little rain won’t stop us from caring for some sweet pets. When it started to rain, we witnessed one owner remove his jacket to lovingly shield his three pups from the rain. The human-animal bond is strong, but the bond that homeless individuals have with their pets may be the strongest. We see this very often at our free pet clinics and street vet work. We are committed to protecting the human-animal bond that is so vital to the livelihood of pets and the people who love them ???? Special thanks to Cigniti Technologies for supporting this work!

Last month, Good Morning America invited our very own, Dr. Kwane Stewart, to provide tips on how to support anxious pets amidst the devastating LA wildfires. In addition to consoling our own pets, Dr. Kwane emphasized the impact that rescuing or fostering pets in the LA area will have on shelters' abilities to intake and help more displaced animals. https://lnkd.in/gpVUmhFd

Our hearts remain heavy as wildfires in Los Angeles continue to leave people and animals displaced and devastate Los Angeles communities. We are grateful to all first responders on the front lines for their selflessness and countless hours of work over the last several weeks. In addition to our incredible first responder communities, we'd love to shout out some of the organizations helping care for injured and displaced pets: Pasadena Humane, The Animal Pad, The Labelle Foundation, and Sevilla Veterinary Hospital. Thank you for providing resources and compassion to everyone affected. If you and your pet are displaced and need veterinary assistance or if your organization has resources for displaced groups, please contact us. https://lnkd.in/enrHpGh3
