We’re proud to be one of the organizations highlighted in the latest episode of Chicago Noir, a Chicago Access Network Television (CAN TV) series that celebrates individuals and organizations making a transformative impact in Chicago. Chicago Noir offers a unique perspective on local and national issues, shedding light on stories that enrich the Black experience. In this episode, our Founder and Executive Director, Dirrick Butler, shares the inspiration behind launching the program. Current mentees share how Project OneTen has shaped their lives so far, and Success Coach Tim Turner, MBA underscores the importance of mentorship in empowering young men of color. We also hear from an alum, reflecting on the lasting influence the program has had on his journey to success. Last week’s workshop was all about empowering our mentees to take control of every aspect of their lives! ???We focused on identifying scenarios that are in our control versus out of it in order to make informed decisions and to figure out where to exert our energy. ?? Since we’re halfway through the school year, we also did a check-in on academics and personal life to make SMART goals, ensuring to close freshman year with a bang! ??? Finally, we wrapped up our time together, inviting their loved ones to a Friendsgiving meal catered by the one-and-only Cleo’s.
