Project Nous

Project Nous is a non-profit project created by university students in both China and overseas, aiming to bring liberal arts education and seminar-style learning to students from less privileged areas in China. Each year, we recruit a group of exceptional seminar leaders. By guiding students through Western and Eastern classics and encouraging discussion in class, we together think critically and forge connections between the self and the world. We want to provide our students with a unique opportunity to learn – not just from the texts, but from engaging with each other and thinking outside of the box. We want our two-week reading camps to be a corrective to the exam-oriented, cramming-style education common within the country. In Nous we believe – to read, to seek, and thus to be human.
