It’s nice to be recognized, and we’re incredibly proud of both our team and what we’ve accomplished. As we keep pushing the needle towards food sovereignty in SESD, it’s nice to feel the community support in the work we do….THANK YOU!!

Save the date!! Our Food Justice Soirée at Mt Hope Community Garden is coming up on Oct.24th and tickets go on sale next week!!! This nighttime fall friendraiser event features food, beverages, live music, and a fantastic garden art show featuring work by @peaceofami. Last year’s event was an amazing success, and we’ll be recreating the magic next month to celebrate National Food Day….so mark your calendars and stay tuned for more information!

Thank you so much for joining us this weekend! Our work day is held the 3rd Saturday of every month at Mt Hope Community Garden. We love having members of the community come out and get their hands dirty with us!
What an unforgettable day of teamwork and service this weekend! ???? From harvesting fresh produce to weeding the gardens for a more resilient future, our dedicated volunteers proved that when we roll up our sleeves, we truly grow a stronger, more connected neighborhood together. ? Global Communities’ Black Employee Resource Group (BERG) hosted a community service day where we volunteered at DC Department of Parks and Recreation Lederer Gardens in Northeast DC and Project New Village Mount Hope Community Gardens in San Diego to serve Black, brown and underserved communities. ? A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made #StrongerCommunityDay ?????? a blooming success!

We are less than 3 months away from our Fannie Lou Hamer Legacy Celebration! Fannie Lou Hamer is a civil rights icon who made a tremendous impact in the fight for equality and social justice. The event will bring together community leaders and supporters to celebrate her contributions and further our mission.
