We’re incredibly proud of Eddy Curry, a Project Max Ambassador, for using his platform to inspire and give back. His journey—from National Basketball Association (NBA) stardom to financial struggles and now advocacy—is a powerful example of resilience and leadership. Like many young athletes, Eddy experienced the challenges that come with sudden wealth and the pressures of supporting others. Over time, he faced financial hardships, but instead of letting them define him, he’s using his experiences to educate young athletes on financial literacy and smart decision-making—helping them navigate the same challenges he once faced. Beyond that, Eddy is making a real impact through Project Max, advocating against antisemitism and racism and standing up for those who can't stand up on their own. His recent efforts to bring back the hostages shows that true greatness isn’t just about success in sports—it’s about how you use your voice to uplift others. In the wake of Brigham Young University's recent 96-95 victory over Arizona Wildcats, it's disheartening to address the offensive chants targeting members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that emerged from the stands. Such expressions of religious intolerance have no place in sports or society. Project Max commends Arizona's athletic director, Desireé Reed-Francois, for her prompt and unequivocal apology, stating that the chant "is not reflective of who we are and should not have happened." She is right. Sports should unite us, transcending differences and fostering mutual respect. We call on all fans, athletes, and institutions to uphold the values of inclusivity and respect, ensuring that such incidents are eradicated from the arenas we cherish.
