Play Impact by Dynalimb Technologies. Super excited at being able to use #3Dprinting to help our young girl, stand and walk for the first time using her #Prosthetics Her name is mercy born with cogenital bone deformity, unfortunately they could not afford the basic assitive device using the traditional laminated method, and we offered to help, 3D printing the full #prosthesis making it an exoskeletal, infusing the Macy foot design. This is #impact to me. Cheers to more of this. We’re always impressed with high-quality innovations in prosthetics and orthotics and Ugani Prosthetics is one such company. With 3D printing, they’re on to something unique with a viable solution for the pediatric population. Just as children grow and need new clothing or shoes, so does their need for new prostheses and orthoses, too.

On this #InternationalDayofEducation, we want to highlight the life-changing work of our partners International Rescue Committee, who are helping children like 15-year-old Tamrat reclaim their right to learn. Conflict didn’t just interrupt his education—it turned his world upside down, stealing years of growth and childhood. Programmes like PlayMatters are giving children affected by crises a chance to heal and thrive. In Ethiopia’s Tigray region, teachers are using play-based tools like LEGO? Six Bricks to inspire learning, rebuild academic skills, and support emotional recovery from trauma. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, no matter the challenges they face.?Let’s keep working towards that goal together.

Empowering mothers of children with disabilities through village savings and loans As the #WorldEconomicForum Annual Meeting 2025 launches, we’re proud to spotlight a savings and loan initiative that requires a small investment but delivers a significant, sustainable impact. In a rural village near Gulu, Uganda, twenty mothers are transforming their lives through a village savings and loans group. These women, raising children with disabilities, have long faced systemic barriers - stigma, discrimination, and the unrecognised rights of their disabled children. With support from Motivation, they’ve launched businesses and are building financial independence. How does it work? ?? Members make small, regular contributions to a joint savings fund. ?? Loans are available to fund business ventures or cover emergencies. ?? Savings can be withdrawn if a member chooses to leave. Meet Adong Adong, a founding member of her group, shared how this initiative has changed her life: "I can pay school fees, feed my family, and cover medical bills. If I run into trouble, I can take a loan." Adong used her loan to expand her pot-making business, which is now her main income source. She crafts cast-iron pots and steam irons alongside her friend Cinderella and two workers from a neighbouring village. Here’s what it takes: Scrap metal costs 2,500 Ugandan Shillings (£0.50) per kilo. With 40 minutes of manual work, a pot is ready. Each pot sells for 25,000 Ugandan Shillings at the local market. How you help? This winter, you can support mothers like Adong. A donation of £100 can fund a village savings and loans scheme, helping mothers of children with disabilities overcome the harsh stigma, discrimination and exclusion they face in their communities and start businesses like poultry farms, beauty kiosks, or local shops. Progress….. If there is anything I’m proud of is the constant work, and effort we are infusing to improve product lines and even make it better. Some years back we became the first company in Nigeria to pull off a plastic molded seat brace using the traditional method, knowing fully well how amazing this achievement was, with over 100-150 orders coming in. We fulfilled just two of it before pulling down the brace. And that’s because it was not fulfilling what we intend the brace to do. The past two years has been on constant, sketching, redesigning, working on prototypes to ensure we have a product that marks all the box of a product market fit product, Using PROTEOR Orten shape, we cracked a good workflow that has helped us to iterate faster, and finally develop this better. A big thank you to Hélène Victor Briac COLOBERT for their assistance and support. This is our First Aveon Project that we felt fulfilled and now we can say Aveon is live and independent seating experience for children with disabilities is possible and will be better. More details coming soon.

?? Help us design and test a new prosthetic knee joint for children ?? Imperial College London are looking for children and teenagers with limb absence in the UK to try out an exciting new prosthetic knee joint as part of their research study. This is an exciting step in our ongoing partnership with Imperial College London as part of the Paediatric Blast Injuries Partnership, to support children who’ve been injured in conflict. The new knee joint has stemmed from multiple research studies in Cambodia and the UK focused on giving children a voice to call for the changes they need in prosthetic limb provision. Caitlin Edgar is a PhD student working to create a new affordable prosthetic knee joint for children globally. After 3 years of research and development the knee is ready and waiting for children to try as part of a fun family friendly science day in London. All travel expenses to London covered. Contact Caitlin directly at [email protected] or +447837135090 to get involved.
