I’m honored to be one of only 103 teachers across the U.S. to earn the 2024-25 Outstanding Project Lead The Way Teacher Award!?I'm more pumped to earn this honor with Riley High School Computer Science teacher and my friend, Kristen Haubold. We have a great time working together and helping students reach their goals.

PLTW creates an engaging classroom environment unlike any other, empowering students with real-world experience.
关于我们
PLTW is an organization focused on empowering students and transforming the teaching experience – a proud tradition from the start of the organization that continues today. Since 1997, we have grown from a high school engineering program to offering comprehensive PreK-12 pathways in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science. PLTW’s world-class, activity-, project-, and problem-based curriculum gives students a chance to apply what they know, identify problems, find unique solutions, and lead their own learning, rather than be passive recipients of information in a question-and-answer, right-or-wrong learning environment. In addition to our innovative curriculum, one of the most unique aspects of our programs is the engaging, rigorous professional development for teachers. We offer five programs of study: PLTW Launch (grades PreK-5), PLTW Gateway (middle school), PLTW Biomedical Science (high school), PLTW Computer Science (high school), and PLTW Engineering (high school). PLTW has 14,000 programs in 11,500 schools, serving millions of students and training over 55,000 teachers.

Collaboration with our partners at Project Lead The Way is very important.?This week, I had the opportunity to visit Festus Sr. High School in Festus, MO and help lead a recycling activity for our #PLTW students with team members from Ardagh Group. Students were tasked with picking ten snack items to be offered at their school.?They also had to look at the recyclability score for each item.?They then heard from Ardagh Group team members about recycling, eliminating waste, reusing materials, regenerating things into nature, and how not all recycling is created equal.?The students went back and made a new list of snack items, keeping in mind these aspects from recycling.?This certainly changed their views and the items they selected, along with their total recyclability score. Teaching students about the importance of recycling and how this impacts our world is so valuable.?The kids were outstanding, and we thank Festus Sr. High School for their enthusiastic participation. Thanks also the the Project Lead The Way product team for the help in developing the activity. #PLTW #recycling #environment.
