We're so excited to share that this week our CEO Jennifer Friend and Chief Partnership Officer Shelby Feliciano-Sabala, MSW are at this year's NAEHCY, National Association for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth?conference in Orlando, Florida! ?? Jennifer Friend delivered Monday's keynote and Shelby Feliciano-Sabala will be presenting a workshop explaining the importance of partnering with community agencies to support students experiencing homelessness.?? Congratulations to our board member, Dr. Dawn Bounds, associate professor of nursing at UCI School of Nursing for receiving a 5-year $3.5 million grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse to study the effectiveness of GRIT, a prevention program designed to help adversity-impacted youth develop healthy coping and stress management skills. Since joining our board, Dr. Bounds has provided research-based guidance to help shape our model of care to improve life outcomes for students experiencing homelessness. Last year, Dr. Bounds helped Project Hope Alliance launch our Youth Advisory Council to incorporate and amplify youth voice into our work. ? This week we are introducing our Partnership Manager, Celso Fuentes! Celso primarily works with the schools PHA partners with to make sure that the services we offer to students is aligned with their goals.
