Congratulations to our board member, Dr. Dawn Bounds, associate professor of nursing at UCI School of Nursing for receiving a 5-year $3.5 million grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse to study the effectiveness of GRIT, a prevention program designed to help adversity-impacted youth develop healthy coping and stress management skills. Since joining our board, Dr. Bounds has provided research-based guidance to help shape our model of care to improve life outcomes for students experiencing homelessness. Last year, Dr. Bounds helped Project Hope Alliance launch our Youth Advisory Council to incorporate and amplify youth voice into our work. ?
