We're on a mission to break down systemic, healthcare, and financial barriers to eating disorder healing.
关于我们
Project HEAL is the only major nonprofit in the U.S. focused on equitable treatment access for eating disorders. Our mission is to breakdown systemic healthcare, and financial barriers to eating disorder treatment for the people that the current system is failing. We offer free treatment placements, insurance navigation support, and cash assistance to people who need care in order to heal, but are being unfairly denied. We're also leading research into treatment inequities, and actively engaged in education and advocacy for eating disorder sufferers, particularly focusing on those who are too often excluded from the conversation.

?? Marissa’s Legacy Drive: Turning Pain Into Purpose ?? Standing on the Santa Monica Pier, looking out over the Pacific, Marissa turned to her father and said, “Isn’t this beautiful, Dad? Life is wonderful.” She was fighting to believe it—fighting to hold on. But after seven years battling an eating disorder, the system failed her one final time. Marissa was intelligent, full of wit, and deeply loved. She wanted to help others get the care she struggled to access. “Reach them when they are young,” she said. “Educate them. Don’t let this disease take over.” We’re honoring that wish. Marissa’s Legacy Drive is dedicated to expanding access to life-saving treatment, breaking systemic barriers, and ensuring no one has to fight this battle alone. ?? Every dollar donated up to $50,000 will be generously matched by Marissa’s family, doubling your impact. Her story didn’t have to end this way. But together, we can change the story for someone else. ? Donate today to carry Marissa’s light forward. ?? https://lnkd.in/grwFs5yi

?? Our 2024 Impact Report is here! 2024 was a defining year for Project HEAL—one that proved just how powerful community-driven change can be. We tripled our service delivery, providing over $6.3 million in care to those with the least access to healing resources. With insurance barriers mounting and applications for help increasing by over 50%, the need has never been greater—but neither has our collective impact. Together, we’re building a future where no one struggles alone. Thank you for showing up, for believing in this work, and for being part of this movement. ?? For 18 years, Agness Walewinder struggled with bulimia, binge eating, and compulsive food behaviors. She tried countless approaches — nutrition, then therapy, and even spirituality — but it wasn’t until she learned to integrate the body, mind, and heart that she finally found sustainable recovery. “Hi! My name is?Taylor?Grasso, I'm currently a registered dietitian who works in the social media and content creation space, sharing about how to create balanced and nutritious meals in a positive way. Something that I say often is that my goal is to teach people how to eat in a world where all we've been taught is how to diet. I struggled with an eating disorder called orthorexia, or the obsession with clean eating, and mine was paired with overexercise. I struggled all throughout high school and college. I actually decided to become a dietitian because of my obsession with clean eating, but it morphed into a much more beautiful relationship with food the more I learned about how the body actually utilizes food and how to properly fuel my metabolism. I worked to get my master's degree in dietetics and became a practicing?dietitian in 2019. Now, 5 years later, I work with women every single day to help them heal their relationship with food and learn how to eat rather than how to diet. I've also worked extensively on healing my own relationship with food, got my period back, and am currently pregnant with my first baby and due in May!” - Taylor Grasso, RDN, LD, MPP-D #HumansofProjectHEAL
