Beginning in early 2024, P.U.M.A. worked alongside the City and County of Denver staff to update the DDA’s Plan of Development and expand the existing Denver Downtown Development Authority (DDDA) to cover the entire core of downtown. The original DDA was formed to support the rehabilitation of Union Station, which was completed in 2014. After a successful campaign led by the Downtown Denver Partnership, over 81% of eligible voters approved the expansion, which will generate more than $500 million over the district’s term to support public and private investment in downtown.

When the Lafayette (CO) Urban Renewal Authority’s (LURA) existing Old Town urban renewal area entered the final year of its term, P.U.M.A., along with our partners at STUDIO SEED, set out to identify the appropriate mechanism to champion Old Town improvements for the next 25+ years. Through stakeholder engagement that included input from nearly 600 community members, a DDA was selected as the preferred governance structure and financing tool for Old Town moving forward. Following a grassroots campaign led by Old Town Lafayette stakeholders, voters approved the formation of the DDA by a wide margin on Election Day.
