???? If you are considering progressing onto the level 6 career development course but feeling apprehensive, here’s a great example of a learner progressing though the course with The Education and Skills Consultancy Malika (Mel) Aka.. ‘A woman with a passion for CEIAG’ applied for the Career Development Level 6 course in April this year. Mel explained to me, how she had been working within career guidance as an adviser for 18 months within a school and how she had an interest in studying but that she was feeling really apprehensive about her application or making a start due to some of the challenges that she felt she faced which also included being qualified no further than ‘access to university’ courses. We set out on a plan to work together which included tailoring Mel’s scheme of work so that Mel would be able to work and learn at a steady but not overwhelming pace. Since enrolling, Mel has been working consistently with The Education and Skills Consultancy, she has made some really outstanding strides in her progress. Mel has been able to work comfortably with theory into practice and is such a key contributor to our group ‘support sessions’ shes regularly share’s the reading or been doing at work, recording in her journal on how she is embedding her skills to work. We’ve been helping Mel to celebrate key learning and progression milestones with regular ‘progress reviews’. Mel’s employer has also been providing great feedback and workplace support to transfer knowledge to practice which has enhanced whole whole learning experience ???? in July 2024 Mel was awarded 2024 Finalist ‘Lionheart’ Award by her local Trust! ???? CONGRATS Mel! This, I think, is a perfect example of how learners can take on this Career Development Apprenticeship course and THRIVE! It’s such a great example of the learning and progression journey new careers advisers can take. Tuesday was World Suicide Prevention Day and as you may know Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is our charity of 2024 Living miserably is a blight that impacts not only our own lives but the lives of our loved ones.
