PIE encourages each cohort of employees to gather annually for an outing. Yesterday, PIE's Staff cohort came together to volunteer at the Gallatin Valley YMCA and reinforce PIE’s strategic initiative to be a "Lever for Good" in the community. ? Last year PIE awarded the Gallatin Valley YMCA our annual community giving award. Those funds are being used to create a speed and agility area, and yesterday?Kristin Horgan, Christina McLaughlin, Renee Storm, SHRM-CP, Kelsea Jacobs, Jennifer Pearson, Maxwell O'Dell rolled up their sleeves to clear space for the installation.?

Tom McMakin had the honor of being the keynote speaker at last week's Consulting Magazine's "Best Firms to Work For" Industry Series Event. In his speech "Building Exceptional Firms: Rainmaking to Culture Building, What Makes Great Firms Stand Out?" he highlighted the strengths and challenges of business development (BD) in professional service firms. *Strength: A strong BD culture "cultivates" together not "hunts." (Entertaining story about hunting a python in Africa included.) *Strength: They have earned trust and credibility from their clients. *Challenge: The lack of training many leaders have in BD. *Challenge: The difficulty of selling services compared to goods. PIE welcomed members of our DEI Community Roundtable and the local chapter of SHRM to our headquarters on August 15 for a special workshop co-hosted by Southwest Montana SHRM.?? ? Thank you to Dylan Hale Thornton who spoke towards “Social Responsibility Perspectives and Opportunity for HR: The value of doing the work, best practices to maintain an inclusive workplace culture, and framework to create & implement successful change.” His presentation focused on: *Best practices for inclusive workplace culture (short-term, actionable, everyday)? *High-level overview of social responsibility/DEIB in strategic planning for successful change? *Education, high-level assessment, leadership commitment, in-depth analysis, implementation? *Types of programs to implement? *Legal considerations He also provided a resource tool kit to ensure participants felt equipped to move this work forward.? ?
