If your strategy only works in one software, it's not a very good strategy. ?? This belief has been driving me [crazy] for years. Even before my abrupt exit from the ClickUp consultant circles, I've set out to take ProcessDriven's approach to systemizing small businesses further. I started by recording the theory/beliefs/principles we've been refining (and practicing) for years. Managing tasks, writing SOPs, creating policies, and more... There's one key difference between how a PRO and a ROOKIE set up up automations for small businesses. (And it has nothing to do with tech skills.??) Rookie Mindset "I'll automate this task so my time is spent maintaining the automation instead of doing the task." ?? Pro Mindset Don't believe me? Great example of why a focus on maintenance is found in the photo below. As part of a routine maintenance check, we found that our software had an automation bug (again ??) which led to some support tickets not be assigned out. Thanks to a practice of maintenance, Sarah was able to spot and correct the issue nearly immediately. Consider what would've happened if we paid no attention to maintenance (like most people)? We surveyed ~545 small teams asking, "What would happen if your key team member left for 4 weeks?" ? The results will shock you! ?? 88% of teams admitted they'd either struggled OR completely stop operations. But wait -- it gets worse!
