Last week we got to do some quick program testing with the Unified Robot Control before tearing down the equipment for paint. Our first thoughts of "out of the box" Rockwell Automation URC: 1.?Easy setup.?Set IP addresses of Kinitex 5700, PLC 5069-L380ERMS2 and HMI. Then we were jogging the robot and homing the axis. 2. Impressed with the user interface. The faceplates for Factorytalk View ME allowed us to quickly setup user/tool frames and index through positions. 3. Simplicity of writing complex programs. If you are familiar Rockwell Automation's motion control platform, then you are going to be right at home while utilizing URC for robotics. The look an feel are similar and now all your logic/commands are all under one platform, no more third party entity that contains logic for running the robot.
