In a typical biomass boiler system, two types of ash need to be handled: bottom ash and fly ash. Bottom ash conveyors, often submerged in water, deal with the heavier residue that falls into the furnace's bottom hopper. Built with a dual-strand drag chain made from high-strength welded steel, they ensure air and dust-tight operation. On the other hand, fly ash conveyors are designed to handle lighter ash that escapes vertically from the furnace. Our fly ash conveyors use a single-strand drag chain made from high-strength CrMn steel. They're engineered to be air and dust-tight, efficiently transporting ash from devices like dust collectors and precipitators to the next system component. Both are essential, but each serves a unique purpose in keeping your biomass boiler system running smoothly. Learn more by reading our in-depth comparison to help determine the pros and cons of each system. https://lnkd.in/gARwH_4Y

If your boiler capacity has noticeably declined over the years and has become inefficient, it’s time to upgrade or retrofit. How much is too much to handle depends on your efficiency tolerance, i.e. how much degradation you can afford before needing to take action. For most plants, tolerance levels are small, given the tightening economics of energy production. While this can be difficult to judge, our team has compiled a list of warning signs to help determine the right timing for your next retrofit or upgrade. Like other industrial equipment, fans are prone to failure, and the signs might be all too familiar. From noisy bearings and fan vibrations to improper airflow or complete silence, these warning signals can mean trouble for your plant's performance. Fan failure is no small issue—it can seriously impact your operation. We've identified a few key reasons why fans fail and how they impact your plant's efficiency. Stay ahead of the game by recognizing these signs early! Call your sales contact today to catch these common failures before they take your fans out of service! https://bit.ly/3twqeSa

To understand optimal performance for your application, we analyze performance conditions, including the inlet density, static pressure, and volumetric flow rate. This helps us determine the proper width-to-diameter ratio and volumetric flow rate at a given fan speed. A properly-engineered fan system will have the performance curve and the system resistance curve intersect at a point of peak efficiency, which lands slightly to the right of the capacity peak curve. 1. Kiln Fan Service and Maintenance: Regular inspections and maintenance of the kiln ID fans are crucial. 2. Appropriate Sizing: Proper fan sizing is pivotal in improving kiln performance as it helps balance the volumetric flow and pressure rates. 3. Kiln Fan Speed Adjustment: Adjusting the fan speed can significantly help in optimizing its performance. Installing a variable frequency drive (VFD) is a technique for controlling the fan’s speed to match the system’s specific flow and pressure requirements. 4. Fan Efficiency Enhancements: Upgrading your existing fans with high-efficiency blade designs, coatings, and materials can improve fan efficiency. 5. Airflow Testing: Ductwork design in an industrial kiln plays an instrumental role in the overall efficiency of the induced draft fan. Give us a call to discuss how we can help your plant. 888-663-2028 What to learn more about how best practices for optimizing your fans? Read the full blog post on our site: https://bit.ly/45npywk

ProcessBarron is proud to support the Investment Tax Credit under IRC48 and ACT13102, that establishes a 30% investment tax credit for combined heat and power facilities. This incentive increases ROI for many of our industrial plant customers on important carbon saving projects, such as: -Steam turbine mechanical drives -Combined cycle plant bottoming cycles -Heat recovery power generation -Steam turbine generators in PRV bypass applications This 30% credit is only valid if construction starts before Jan 1st, 2025. 5 year accelerated depreciation may also apply. We can help you meet this deadline by completing the required 5% construction, but you need to move fast! Call us today.
