PROSTATE RESEARCH UPDATE: WATER III Trial Results from EAU 2025 The results of the independent, investigator-initiated WATER III randomized, multi-center, international trial was presented at the European Association of Urology Congress. The trial compared Aquablation? therapy to laser enucleation, a highly effective treatment for large prostates. The key outcomes between Aquablation therapy and laser enucleation were: ? Similar symptom score (IPSS) reduction ? Significantly lower rates of ejaculatory dysfunction (14.8% vs 77.1%) ? Significantly lower stress incontinence (0% vs 9.1%) The trial, included prostates measuring 80–180 ml, was conducted by surgeons from Germany and the United Kingdom between 2020 and 2024. Myth: BPH symptoms are just a normal part of aging. Fact: While common, BPH symptoms like frequent urination and weak stream shouldn’t be ignored. Dr. Garrett Pohlman, a urologist at Kearney Urology Center, shares his perspective on why men shouldn’t simply tolerate BPH symptoms and how they can take action. He discusses Aquablation? therapy, a robotic-assisted, heat-free waterjet treatment, as a solution to alleviate prostate obstruction and improve quality of life. Prostate health matters—don't wait to seek help. Safety Information: https://bit.ly/48PsIM6

Untreated BPH is more than a urinary issue—it can affect kidney health. During National Kidney Month, it's important to highlight the long-term risks of chronic urinary retention, including bladder dysfunction, infections, and potential kidney damage. As urologists, educating patients on early intervention is key to protecting long-term urinary function and overall health. #NationalKidneyMonth #AquablationTherapy #BPH Safety information: https://bit.ly/48PsIM6
