??Prometheus Project Spotlight?? Our nonprofit partner, Penta Medical Recycling, collects used prostheses to bring high-quality, low-cost prosthetic care to amputees around the world. Penta turned to Prometheus for a custom application that significantly expanded its operational capacity. The new inventory management tool streamlined logistics, saving the team valuable time at the warehouse, and helped Penta track their growing impact. Automated communication features have also enhanced Penta's ability to keep its growing list of donors informed. With these improvements, Penta has spent more time developing key partnerships and has shipped more accurate orders with mobility-restoring parts to patients. Since our launch, Prometheus has built a network of more than 550 students and professionals who have dedicated more than 25,000 hours of pro bono work to help social good organizations save more than $4 million. And we are just getting started. This year, Prometheus officially became a nonprofit. In order to become truly self-sustaining and expand our growing network, we need your help. This summer, we launched a Pro Bono Capstone Program with The Knowledge House, an organization dedicated to providing high-tech training to students from underserved communities.? We connected The Knowledge House with social-good nonprofits and supported fellows as they solved complex technical challenges for organizations with data and technology needs, and we are excited to continue this partnership to support their alumni program. During the capstone, fellows delivered real-world solutions to impactful nonprofits, helping power their missions. By taking on these pro bono projects, 100% of the fellows reported learning new technical and leadership skills that are crucial for professional development. “Working on a Prometheus project has provided me the confidence to state that I have applied my teachings from a data science boot camp to a real-world scenario. ??Prometheus Project Spotlight?? Our nonprofit partner, Achungo Children’s Center, has provided education to hundreds of students in Kenya. Tracking these students’ outcomes has proven difficult due to the different methods exam scores are collected. Matched through Prometheus, data science fellows from The Knowledge House created a longitudinal analysis to understand student performance over time, allowing the organization to assess the impact of their programs and enable data-led improvements. “[This] was a project I’d long desired but simply did not have time, skills or tools to complete….[the project] produced very high quality analytics that are providing unexpectedly valuable information about our operational outcomes” (Executive Director, Achungo Children’s Center). ??Prometheus Project Spotlight?? Our nonprofit partner, Foster Nation, is on a mission to engage their community to support and empower youth aging out of the foster care system to become self-sufficient. They previously provided essential resources to foster youth through their website but wanted an application that makes their resources easily accessible to the foster youth they serve. A full-stack developer from our network designed and built a custom web application that connects foster youth to specific resources. This new application allows foster youth to filter resources by key criteria such as location, education level, and age range, and to search for specific keywords.?? “Working with Prometheus was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The deliverable exceeded expectations, and the entire project was a very low lift for our organization from a time perspective. ??Prometheus Project Spotlight?? The Appellate Project (TAP) empowers law students of color to thrive in the appellate field by pairing them with mentors in their network. They were manually reviewing hundreds of applicants for their mentorship program, consuming a significant amount of time for their team. In order to support their growing programs, they needed a solution to streamline and automate parts of this process. A data analyst from our network migrated workflows for these programs to Airtable, allowing the organization to match mentees quicker and more effectively. “Working with Prometheus and the tech talent that our organization was matched with was an amazing experience. It was great to see our ideas and vision come to life through Airtable and learn along the way.
