关于我们
Pro Mal Insurance ensures that healthcare professionals can deal confidently with their patients who discuss, use, or plan to use cannabis. We offer the insurance and educational tools needed to safely and effectively deliver proper clinical guidance to patients, while protecting healthcare professionals from claims that are not covered by their medical malpractice insurance. Doctors, nurse practitioners and nurses who encounter patients using, or asking about, medical cannabis often lack detailed knowledge of the drug, and definitely lack affirmative and reliable protection from malpractice claims arising from legal problems associated with the use of a Schedule I drug that is not approved for use by the FDA. The medical cannabis industry is growing rapidly. Addressing this burgeoning healthcare need is complicated by the complex legal conflicts between state and federal law. Abandoned by their traditional medical malpractice carriers, doctors who encounter patients seeking information about cannabis have no reliable and affirmative malpractice coverage. Pro Mal Insurance is the first state-regulated, domestically-based, admitted Risk Purchasing Group program with an affirmative cannabis policy. And, its members realize the benefits of a larger risk pool—lower rates and program stability. As cannabis medicine and cannabis research evolve, Pro Mal’s focus on cannabis education will lead to a better standard of care. We provide accredited, peer-reviewed, evidence-based research that is distilled into practical useful information. Timely communications updates on the latest cannabis research and risk management strategies are sent to keep healthcare professionals current. Pro Mal is supplemental insurance that allows physicians to keep their primary medical malpractice policy. It’s quite affordable. And, brings peace of mind. Pro Mal ensures that healthcare professionals can safely navigate their exposure to cannabis.

The Arizona Dept. of Insurance is the latest to license Pro Mal to provide supplemental coverage for their physicians! AZ doctors--with Pro Mal you can now feel assured that you have affirmative protection from cannabis wrongful acts. Increasingly patients are challenging you with questions about cannabis... + Asking how cannabis may help relieve their symptoms; pain, anxiety, depression + Asking how cannabis affects the medicine they currently take + Inquiring about the risks if they try cannabis + And seeking informed, educated answers Millions of patients need clinical guidance on cannabis, such as with drug-drug interactions. But doctor-patient discussions are chilled by Federal prohibitions as it is federally illegal to prescribe, recommend or discuss the use of cannabis as a treatment. Healthcare systems are also challenged by medical cannabis. Cannabis education and patient discussions potentially threaten the loss of federal funding because of the same Federal prohibitions. This impacts conversations between doctors and patients. Finally, the vast majority of primary medical malpractice policies exclude claims from use of medications for a FDA non-approved drugs, i.e. cannabis, as well as all Schedule 1 drugs. Minnesota's Dept. of Insurance has just licensed Pro Mal Insurance to protect their physicians with affirmative cannabis coverage. Why do doctors need?Pro Mal Insurance? To add "Supplemental Cannabis Wrongful Acts" coverage to their primary professional liability. Doctors' carriers "EXCLUDE liability arising from the use or promotion of any non-FDA-approved medication", such as cannabis! So, a claim from a patient using cannabis, even if the doctor was not the "prescriber", could be denied by the carrier, requiring the doctor to pay for defense and damages out of pocket. Pro Mal doctors keep their current professional liability policy and carrier, but ADD our affordable coverage (for as little as $140/month) for Cannabis Wrongful Acts. We are also a great source for education and information on the current cannabis Standard-of-Care. Check out our website. The sky-rocketing trend of cannabis use is placing ALL physicians at risk. Why? Their malpractice insurance typically does NOT cover them for cannabis wrongful acts. ? 1) The vast majority of medical malpractice policies EXCLUDE claims arising from use of non-approved FDA drugs, i.e. cannabis. 2) Most policies also EXCLUDE acts that are violations of Federal law—again cannabis. 3) Many policies are SILENT on cannabis, and that leaves it up to insurance companies as to whether they cover you for a claim—or not. Don't find out when it's too late! For an average of $140 per month?Pro Mal's supplemental coverage?AFFIRMATIVELY protects physicians from cannabis medical malpractice.
