关于我们
Homeowners in small communities and rural areas of the United States without a public water supply often lack appropriate understanding of best practices for managing, operating, and protecting their private well. A free, step-by-step education framework has been developed to assist well owners and other stakeholders in understanding groundwater hydrology, well fundamentals, well care best practices, and finding assistance locally. It also helps well owners understand how to sample their well, how to interpret sample results, and what they can do to protect their well and source water from contamination. The program leverages web-based content, including video, an email newsletter, and social media marketing to reach and educate homeowners on this important health topic. Outreach to public health officials, well drillers and other stakeholders is a significant component of the project. The Illinois State Water Survey and the Illinois Water Resources Center, at the University of Illinois, have collaboratively developed the curriculum for this program, under contract with the Rural Community Assistance Partnership and with funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

World Water Day 2025 is tomorrow! What are your plans to celebrate and communicate the importance of protecting our planet’s water resources? This year’s theme is Glacier Preservation. Most of us in the US may not deal with glaciers on a day to day basis, but they are still an important part of Earth’s water cycle and resources. Check out the World Water Day page at the UN for more information, and be sure to follow United Nations Water too! #WorldWaterDay #GlacierPreservation #waterresources #waterconservation

Happy National Groundwater Awareness Week! Running through this whole week, GWAW was created in 1999 to promote the responsible development, management, and use of groundwater. It is also a yearly reminder for well owners to test and treat their systems! To celebrate GWAW, we are leading our tenth annual Pledge to Test Campaign. Tap Score is offering one free Essential Well Water Test for well owners who pledge to test their wells through this campaign. Anyone who pledges to test will be able to receive $10 off any Tap Score water test kit with the code PLEDGE2025 through April 30. Fill out our pledge form and share your pledge with family, friends, and neighbors. You can also download pledge badges, like the one below, at our website to share on social media. We encourage you to use the hashtags #Pledge2Test and #GWAW on any social platforms that you use!
