Hamid Samani and our Vancouver Island team—Adam Franklin, Vaibhav Parmar, and Haydn MacLean—recently met with Leticia O'Toole, Project Lead from the District of Saanich, to review the construction of the mechanical upgrades project at G.R. Pearkes Recreation Centre.???♀?Currently, the project is in the construction stage for the implementation of electric discant dehumidification, rooftop electric air source heat pump units, and Fieldhouse electrification upgrades. After almost a decade of unresolved issues and research for a viable solution, Vancouver School Board asked Prism to review three schools’ heat pump system designs and propose solutions to fix them.?With support and funding from the BC Hydro and FortisBC Continuous Optimization Program, this project’s results earned an ASHRAE British Columbia Chapter award and reduced emissions by up to 80%.
