Last week, we attended the Urban Land Institute Northwest Arkansas Place Summit in Bentonville. One of the breakout sessions we enjoyed was the Small Cities Design Workshop for Centerton. We explored opportunities for the historic village crossroads and for creating a "new" downtown. Our group discussed pedestrian connectivity, existing site constraints, and connectivity to the nearby school.

We co-hosted a visioning session yesterday for the new Ramay Junior High in Fayetteville. We're working with a team of innovative architects and engineers on this project for Fayetteville Public Schools. The new facility will provide much-needed space for a growing student population and will incorporate low-impact development techniques and outdoor learning labs. The visioning meeting is the first step in the project process and facilitates collaboration between the design team, consultants, and the district as we strategize how to bring this project to life. We broke ground last week on the Ritter and Spool Buildings in the heart of Downtown Rogers. These two three-story buildings will provide 45 residential units, providing workforce housing while adding to the historic character and charm of downtown. Our team recently led a site walk for the City of Searcy's new recreational campus. The project is in the initial design phases and will include a new community center, sports complex, and aquatic center. During the walk, we identified significant natural features to be protected and enhanced as amenities for the public to enjoy. Several large, 100-year-old oak trees and a stream will be preserved and highlighted through thoughtful building positioning, site planning, and site circulation. Jenny and her husband Cory were recently recognized by the Beaver Watershed Alliance with the Watershed Champion - Streamside Award. Cory volunteers his time and opens the Ozark Adventure & Recreation property for BWA events such as the War Eagle Appreciation River Clean-Up, water quality testing, and youth engagement programs. Prism Design Studio and OAR also sponsored the War Eagle River Clean-Up. Help us congratulate these two!
