Transforming Prior Authorization: Our Goals and Objectives at PAFA
At PAFA, we are on a mission to improve the prior authorization (PA) process for all stakeholders in the healthcare system. Our primary goal is to engage public and private payers to make meaningful, positive changes in their PA claims processes and practices. Through our membership and accreditation program, we work to improve the PA experience for patients, caregivers, physicians, pharmacies, and all involved stakeholders.
Here’s what we aim to achieve:
- Recognizing Efficient Practices: We are committed to recognizing Canadian payers who have adopted efficient PA claims administration practices that improve the overall process for all involved.
- Improving the Patient Experience: By promoting a streamlined, transparent, and patient-centric PA processes, we reduce the time for claims processing, ease administrative burdens, and ultimately improve the experience for patients who rely on timely access to treatments.
- Supporting Stakeholder Collaboration: We believe in the power of collaboration between payers, physicians, pharmacies, patient support groups, and ePA solution providers. Together, we can create a more unified approach to PA that works for everyone.
- Differentiating Private Payers: Private payers who embrace the PAFA Framework and receive PAFA accreditation gain the ability to differentiate themselves in a competitive market while benefiting from streamlined processes that improve efficiency and reduce administrative costs.
By achieving these objectives, the PAFA Program plays a vital role in transforming the PA landscape, ensuring that the process is more efficient, consistent, transparent, and patient-focused.
Let’s continue to work together for a better healthcare system that benefits all. Find out more about PAFA at https://lnkd.in/gmzmkP_J , download the Guide.
