A lot of people have been asking: do firms still hire at the end of the year. The answer is a resounding yes! While we are seeing activity throughout the market, the three biggest trends that I’ve noticed: 1–Niche/specialty areas remain hot! From #InternationalTrade, #DataPrivacy and #FinTech to #Derivatives, #BrokerDealer and #HighNetWorth Trusts work we constantly get UNPOSTED roles with top #AmLaw firms. 2–#Funds won’t stop, and #MandA work is in full swing! #RegisteredFunds groups cannot add quickly enough, #FundFormation practices are looking for associates, and plenty of M&A teams are offering top of market compensation & matching year end bonuses. The work is there and the firms aren’t waiting. 3–#Partner & #Counsel hiring for 2025 starts now. With longer interview processes and less concern about bonuses, these groups are already having conversations. DC has been seeing Partner demand across areas, with some groups looking for no portables and others with only small books. All just to say, the calendar year end doesn’t mean you should forget about your career or the #LegalMarket. Plenty of teams are #HiringNow.
