The 2020 U.S. Census Bureau reported a surprising uptick in the number of people who are multiracial in America: The percentage jumped from 3.4 percent the year before to 10.2 percent. Last Fall, I had the privilege of leading a Policy Workshop at Princeton's School of Public and International Affairs. ?My class consisted of 10 fabulously talented Master in Public Affairs students, and we spent the semester looking at how the United States can better cooperate with allies and partners to maintain a strategic advantage over China with respect to emerging technologies. On Friday, my students published their final report: "Expanding the PIE: Building a 'Plurilateral ?Innovation Ecosystem' for Critical and Emerging Technologies." ?Their recommendations center on how the United States can do more to coordinate with international partners on positive efforts to promote innovation, in addition to coordinating restrictive measures, like export controls.
