关于我们
The Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad was established in 1939 by a group of dedicated individuals who volunteered to put others above themselves. Even though the technology has changed, that same drive to give of yourself to help others is a vital component of the organization today. The Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that is 80% volunteer run. We are an independent organization that does not receive funding from the Municipality of Princeton or any other government agency. The Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad depends on generous contributions from individual, foundations, and corporation to continue our mission to save lives, relieve the suffering of the sick and injured, and promote safety. The Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad is proud to have a team of over 90 dedicated volunteer and career members who are professional, courteous, and highly skilled in emergency medical and technical rescue service with a strong desire to help those in need. Our members supplement their EMT and Rescue Technician certifications and extensive experience with ongoing internal training to ensure those we serve receive the highest quality patient care. The Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad's headquarters houses four ambulances and a heavy rescue truck. Our fleet is also made up of a UTV off road vehicle, a Rescue One Connector boat, a rehab truck, and two first-responder vehicles. Located in the northwestern corner of Mercer County, our jurisdiction is bordered by West Windsor, Plainsboro, Lawrenceville, Kingston, Montgomery, Hopewell and Rocky Hill.

??? **Remembering 9/11: A Legacy of Heroes and Resilience** ??? In the heart of Princeton, we stand as stewards of a powerful symbol—a section of steel from the World Trade Center. This poignant artifact, housed at the Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad, serves as a profound reminder of the lives tragically lost on September 11, 2001, and the extraordinary courage displayed in the face of such immense adversity. This year, as we mark the anniversary, we reflect on its profound impact on our nation and the world. Our community’s commitment, through the Princeton September 11, 2001 Memorial Committee, has culminated in a lasting tribute that honors those lost in NYC, The Pentagon, and Shanksville, PA. The memorial, completed and standing proudly on the grounds of our new building at 2 Mt. Lucas Rd., Princeton, NJ, is a testament to our ongoing dedication to remember, honor, and find strength in unity. It stands as a beacon of the resilience and solidarity that define us. Join us as we gather in this sacred space to honor the past, recognize the heroes among us, and reaffirm our collective resilience. Together, we keep the spirit of unity and remembrance alive. ??? **Remembering Michael Kenwood: A Hero Who Gave His All** Today, we honor the memory of Michael Kenwood, a dedicated volunteer EMT and rescue technician with the Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad (PFARS), who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on August 28, 2011, during Hurricane Irene. Michael’s bravery and selflessness were evident as he answered the call to rescue potential victims trapped in floodwaters on Rosedale Road. Despite not being scheduled to work that night, Michael knew his skills as a swift-water rescue technician were desperately needed. His determination to help others in the face of great personal risk was a testament to his character. Tragically, during the rescue attempt, Michael was swept away by the rushing waters and pinned under a stand of trees. Despite the valiant efforts of his fellow rescuers and medical personnel, Michael succumbed to his injuries later that evening. He was 39 years old. Michael's legacy of compassion, courage, and dedication continues to inspire all who knew him and those who serve in PFARS today. As a beloved member of the EMS community, Michael was not only a mentor but also a trusted friend whose acts of kindness and bravery left a lasting impact. Thank you, Michael, for your unwavering commitment and ultimate sacrifice. You will always be remembered and honored by all of us at PFARS and the Princeton community. https://lnkd.in/gdZp8WdZ
