On Saturday, November 2nd, the Princeton High School Navy Jr. ROTC Orienteering Team participated in the 2024 Southwestern Ohio JROTC Orienteering Meet at East Fork State Park. The PHS Orienteering Team is made up of 30 Naval Science cadets and was commanded by Cadet Nikolai Barenz, a second year freshman in the NJROTC program. (He joined the program in 8th grade.) ?? Princeton Viking Stadium Upgrades - Get the Facts! Important changes are coming to the Jake Sweeney Automotive Stadium at Princeton High School. This $22 million project addresses critical facility needs including track and turf replacement, safety improvements, and the addition of equitable facilities for all student-athletes. The upgrades, which have been in planning since 2023, will begin in Fall 2024 and continue through the 2025-26 school year. These renovations are separate from the November 5th levy and do not require a bond issue. Student-athletes from across Ohio had the opportunity to learn from an extraordinary lineup of speakers at the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Student Leadership Conference. The event brought together accomplished sports, business, and entertainment professionals to help students develop strong character and leadership skills. "This conference is about more than just athletics – it's about building tomorrow's leaders," says Doug Ute, OHSAA Executive Director. "We're providing students with the tools they need to create positive change in their schools and communities." The distinguished speaker lineup included: ?? Former National Football League (NFL) player Aaron Shawn Harper, who transformed his professional football experience into a successful business career ?? Hoan Do, an international speaker, author, and American Ninja Warrior competitor ??Former The Ohio State University basketball player and state high jump champion Otis Winston, who is currently thriving in Hollywood as an actor, writer, and producer. ??Tom Burton, former superintendent of Princeton City Schools, bringing decades of educational consulting expertise ??World champion powerlifter turned professional speaker Rick Metzger ??Conference coordinator Harvey Alston, Best Inc., renowned for his "high octane" presentations and CEO of Best, Inc. The conference focused on creating transformational culture within schools, emphasizing character development, leadership skills, and personal growth. Through interactive sessions and motivational talks, students gained practical strategies to become more effective school and community leaders. The event will occur on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Viking Village, 150 Viking Way, Cincinnati, OH 45246. The “State of the Schools” will spotlight our school buildings' coursework, extracurricular activities, programs, and services, including student presentations from 6:00-7:00 PM. The Address will be from 7:15 to 8:00 PM in Matthews Auditorium. Superintendent G. Elgin Card will discuss the upcoming levy, the state report card, the strategic plan, and the district’s focus for the future. Treasurer Christine Poetter will present the financial forecast.
