The most recent Census Bureau Retail Sales Report told a much more interesting story than headlines may suggest. While the 0.2 percent month-over-month increase didn’t hit expectations, it was still up, and it rose 3.1 percent year-over-year – a significant jump. Another highlight of the report was online sales, which rose 2.4 percent year-over-year, echoing PriceSpider data that shows Amazon is continuing to drive strong sales: Amazon’s average order value was up almost 3% month-over-month.
