Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky, founded in 1987, works to ensure the prevention of child abuse and neglect in Kentucky. A major organizational focus is to advocate for the existence of a federal and state policy framework and strategy for children and families while promoting and implementing evidence-based practices that prevent abuse and neglect from ever occurring. VISION Engaging partners to utilize Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky to make ending child maltreatment a public priority. Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky is excited to announce our new Upstream Academy. The Academy will allow at least one person from each Kentucky county to be trained in the latest child abuse and neglect prevention messaging and strategies. After successful completion of the Academy, members will be required to provide presentations and trainings on evidence-based and evidence-informed curricula in their local communities. Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky is seeking proposals from qualified public relations firms to provide comprehensive marketing services focused on engaging and legislators as well as influencing legislative outcomes. Our organization aims to build and strengthen relationships with lawmakers at the local, state, and federal levels to advocate for policies impacting the families and children of Kentucky. All work will be consistent with moving our Board approved Public Policy Agenda forward. We are looking for a PR firm with a proven track record in governmental and legislative communications to create and execute a strategic marketing campaign that resonates with legislators and key policymakers. The successful applicant must have significant experience in ensuring communications with legislators comply, in both the letter and the spirit of the law, with 501c3 lobbying restrictions.?The PR firm must be steeped in what is a call to action and what is not -- and how to effectively communicate to ensure all laws are followed. This year, Kentucky’s School Report Card celebrates a huge achievement: ZERO incidents of corporal punishment in schools for the 2023-2024 school year! After years of dedicated advocacy, Kentucky has officially ended the archaic practice of paddling, creating a safer, more supportive learning environment for all students. For the first time in recent history, Kentucky schools have reported ZERO incidents of corporal punishment during the 2023-2024 school year! This significant achievement follows years of dedicated advocacy by students, organizations like Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky, and lawmakers committed to creating safer learning environments. In August 2023, a new regulation required all 171 Kentucky public school districts to formalize their policies on corporal punishment, resulting in a statewide ban. This has ensured a safer, more inclusive educational experience, especially for students with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. Read more through our article!
