关于我们
Our Mission The mission of Prevent Blindness Texas is to prevent blindness and preserve sight. Who We Are Established in 1956 and incorporated in 1965, Prevent Blindness Texas is the state's leading voluntary eye health and safety organization dedicated to preventing blindness and preserving sight. As such, we focus on improving the state's vision and eye health by enhancing community capacity through our core competencies of early detection, patient support, systems enhancement, public policy, public awareness and health education. Half of all blindness can be prevented, yet this can only occur through these essential interventions. Focused on providing a continuum of vision care, Prevent Blindness Texas touches the lives of thousands of Texans through our sight-saving programs and services through our network of volunteers and offices located in Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio. Prevent Blindness Texas is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization existing under the laws of the State of Texas.

"I sure appreciate the opportunity to make a recurring monthly donation to Prevent Blindness Texas. Giving a substantial amount of money all at once is not always easy, but that doesn't change the fact that I want to give a particular amount of money for the year. Having the donation be reoccurring ensures that I will not forget to make my monthly contribution." "For me, giving is about driving meaningful change that reaches far beyond just one person.?PBT’s work is essential in advocating and empowering those impacted by vision issues, and real change takes time, resources, and support to have the biggest impact. By contributing monthly, I want to help make this possible, backing the people dedicated to improving lives through awareness, education, and prevention. I believe in living by the motto,?“Be the change you want to see in the world,”and make a difference wherever and however I can." At Texas Lutheran University, nursing students are provided hands-on learning experience such as teaming up with local schools to assist school nurses with providing certified vision screenings in a timelier manner. This year, Prevent Blindness Texas wrapped up our World Sight Day activities by providing children’s vision screening training and certification to 23 nursing students and faculty. Together, we are helping to protect the health of children and families in their communities. #PreventBlindness #EyeHealth #ChildrensHealth
