Preservation of At-Risk Wildlife (PAW) Foundation

We are a US-based private family foundation dedicated to supporting the long-term protection of at-risk wildlife and wild-lands around the world through engagement in activities including, but not limited to, grant making to national and international organizations. We seek to support both local and international organizations and initiatives working to preserve the populations and ecosystems of animal species threatened by human development, habitat loss, poaching, pollution and other factors. Equally, we view the support and engagement of local communities in these target areas as critical to initiative success. Our principal focus will be on the African continent, but the Foundation will also consider opportunities in both the United States and elsewhere in the world. Our world is at a tipping point where pressure on wilderness, climate and biodiversity has never been greater. Our foundation aims to mitigate this pressure through the support of impactful organizations and initiatives that conserve critically important natural landscapes, tackle the decline of key species and work closely with local communities to find sustainable solutions that benefit both human beings and the environment. Our strong focus on the African continent comes from years of travel and study resulting in a strong contact base and understanding of many of the key issues impacting both wilderness areas and communities. We accept proposals by invitation only.
