We are immensely proud of our outstanding alumni! In celebration of American Pharmacists Month, we want to continue to honor and recognize their invaluable contributions to the pharmacy profession. Today's alumni spotlight feature is Deb Minich, BSPh '85. "Ohio Northern provided a strong foundation that allowed me to explore various niches within pharmacy. I started out in retail pharmacy, then transitioned into managed care, where I have worked at several PBMs, a large Blues plan in the Midwest, a specialty pharmacy, and now for a rebate aggregator. That foundation at ONU has been critical to my professional success," Deb shares. "The education I received at ONU has been invaluable. ONU's educators take their responsibility seriously, preparing students to positively contribute to the profession's progress. I was able to return as a Diplomat for AMCP (Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy), supporting the student chapter and mentoring students myself. I appreciate that ONU exposes students to this potential career path, which has served me well for over 30 years. I would suggest that current and future ONU pharmacy students not take the value of their education and experiences for granted. Also, be comfortable stepping outside of traditional pharmacy options and beyond your comfort level. That's where growth happens!" #onupharmacyalumni #onuproud
