We deeply appreciate the encouraging visit from Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) to our presbytery. Their presence, prayers, and commitment to walking alongside us as we pursue the long term recovery of our communities are a true testament to Christ’s love amid the ashes. Your support reminds us that we are not alone in this journey. Thank you for being a source of strength and hope! https://lnkd.in/gTFYr_pt

**Presbytery Welcomes Denominational Leaders** Being part of a connectional church gives us the privilege of interacting with the remarkable ministry undertaken by Presbyterians around the country. From February 2 to 5, we had the opportunity to organize several activities with the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) General Assembly Rev. Tony Larson and Rev. Jihyun Oh, Stated Clerk and Executive Director of the Interim Unified Agency. We are grateful to La Canada Presbyterian Church and Silverlake Community Church for joining us in hosting oir distingushed guests. The itinerary included a conversation with members of the Lead Team, meetings with people impacted by the fires, dialogues about New Worshiping Communities and innovation, a meeting about ministry with immigrants and a gathering in celebration of our 170 years in Los Angeles.

Dear Friends, Our Presbytery staff is currently seeking ways to respond to the disruption, displacement, and distress caused by the spread of fires in the Los Angeles area. I, personally, just got off the phone with a leader of Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) and plan to participate in a meeting of the Emergency Network Los Angeles at 2 PM. I have become aware that pastors Steve Wiebe, Ross Purdy, and several members of various congregations have been evacuated. La Ca?ada Presbyterian Church has also done that. Please pray for them and reply if you have additional information that may be relevant. I have found the following link to be a source of valuable information about the affected areas and evacuation orders: https://lnkd.in/gpCqShA2. Please look under the Palisades, Eaton, Hurst, and Woodley listings in the 2025 incidents column. In the meantime, let's intercede before God for: . Those who have lost homes or loved ones may find comfort and strength. . Firefighters, emergency personnel, and volunteers working to protect others. . Local leaders are making difficult decisions to ensure the safety of our communities. . Our congregations and ministries are offering to those in need. May we express resilient love during this challenging time as people of hope. If your congregation or ministry needs assistance or is offering support to those affected, please don't hesitate to contact me at 818 554 6183 to help us better coordinate our collective efforts. Thank you for your continued faithfulness and commitment to being Christ's hands and feet in the world. Sincerely, Juan J. Sarmiento Executive Presbyter

God entered the world in the most unassuming way. Christmas invites us to recognize and join in God’s “wild pursuit.” This pursuit compels us to extend love, compassion, and hospitality to the marginalized and overlooked, knowing that God’s redemptive work often begins in places we least expect. Merry?Christmas!
