A hallmark of PDS is its commitment to lifelong learning. Last week, PDS faculty members and administrators spent two days learning along other Tennessee Independent School educators, and several shared their expertise as presenters at the Tennessee Association of Independent Schools Annual Conference at Battle Ground Academy. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with other educators in our state and continue to grow as professionals!

If you look closely, you might see some familiar faces in the Harrow School photos! We are thrilled that Jackson Boyd, Mark Fruitt, and Chris Oliver were able to attend the International Boys' School Coalition's Annual Conference in London, England! #IBSCAC
Harrow School welcomed over 600 delegates from boys’ schools around the world at the annual?#IBSCAC?(International Boys’ Schools Coalition) conference, demonstrating its commitment to being at the forefront of new ideas, knowledge sharing and participating in a global community. It was the first time that the conference had taken place in Europe since 2011 and we were delighted to have had record attendance. This year's conference theme was ‘Tradition. Leadership. Innovation’ and focused on the ways boys can contribute positively to social and environmental change in an ever-evolving, globalised world. Twenty-nine Harrovians from the Shell to the Sixth Form, volunteered as Ambassadors - meeting and greeting delegates, introducing keynote speakers and performing music and drama at the beginning of each session. Keynote speakers included Jaz Ampaw-Farr, CEO of Human First Ltd, TV presenter and TEDx speaker, Ben Fogle, broadcaster and adventurer, Paul Brunson, world renowned relationship expert and Head of Global Research for Tinder, and Nigel Owens, widely acknowledged as the best referee in rugby union and named?as Gay Sports Personality of the Year. Over 100 sessions took place, including: Behind Closed Screens: Safeguarding Boys in a Hypersexualized Online World; Gamified Digital Learning Platforms: How Might Schools Take a Lead; The Digital World and Education: Does This Affect Academic Achievement?; Building a Culture of Academic Integrity; and "What a Piece of Work Is a Man"—Relationships Education and Shakespeare; Breaking Through Loneliness; Gender Mindfulness; Sustainable Robots; Dismantling the Man Box; Sport, Mental Health, and Toxic Masculinity; Separating Learning from Politics in an Environment of Polarization and Rancor; Leading with Pride; "I'm Offended! You're Cancelled!" Teaching Controversies in Schools. The IBSC is a non-profit organisation that champions boys’ schools (both independent and maintained) across the globe.
