Planning an event should be equal parts purpose-driven and fun --- you should love what you're doing, and Shweta Agrawal and I have absolutely loved leaning into our new roles as Co-Chapter Leads at Born Global Community Boston. Why? Simple: 1.) We're already making Boston even more of a vibrant tech and innovation hub thanks to the work we do with Jason Kraus at Boston New Technology (BNT) and with Shweta coming in as a superb mentor for Prepare 4 VC's programs. We're an unstoppable trio. 2.) Shweta and I are big, big proponents of positive ecosystem transformation and grassroots community building. We tack on to Dr.Sunny's belief and forward-thinking ways relative to "the galaxy of innovation". We were among the first (and are among the proudest) supporters of Maria Gorskikh's Dream Ventures Lab, Suman Lal and TINS: Technology Innovation Studio, SBUR Group with Tony Zhang and of course Techstars Startup Weekend. We've also thrown our support over to our friends Marisa Nieves, Chareeda R., and Stanley Rameau with A2C. 3.) We were deeply impressed with the lightning pitches delivered by Terence Tan, Di Ye, and Amy Han at BNT's special partner pre-show put together Born Global. We want to expose more and more founders to platforms that can truly elevate them, and we thank Blake Blaze for introducing us. It's been a few days since I've written on Linkedin, and I've missed it -- and all the interesting things that tend to happen on here. That being said, this past week has been one of the best in recent memory. Jason Kraus and I have spoken with so many founders from all across the world as Prepare 4 VC enjoys one of its busiest periods ever, and Shweta Agrawal has been hard at work in New York and elsewhere continuing to grow our presence and observe all kinds of innovation in action for Boston New Technology (BNT), Born Global Community, and beyond. All throughout this period of intense activity, I've observed the following two rules which were reinforced for me by Tony Zhang and Mark Zheng: "To serve many, we must learn to do less, but better." "A map without purpose leads to endless wandering." "A community's strength lies in the hands of its peers." The startups we've learned from, the partners we've spent time with, all of it has had a wonderful effect -- and I can't wait to see what the next few weeks will be like.
