In case you missed it, our Yosemite Cabin project was featured in the Wall Street Journal! We're proud to have been part of creating a place for this special family to make memories in one of America's most beautiful parks. https://lnkd.in/ghsZwdxu
关于我们
We are Prentiss + Balance + Wickline Architects. We design with the belief that nothing is impossible, and temper it with good old-fashioned pragmatism, embracing both big ideas and intricate details. Taking into account location, context, and other inherent attributes of a specific project, we strive to create a balanced whole, integrating the structure and the environment. We consider the interplay between inside and outside, light and shadow, aesthetics and utility, carefully selecting materials that harmonize with nature, prioritizing efficiency and sustainability. Most importantly, we look for opportunities to bring joy and unanticipated delight into the spaces we create as well as into the process that gets us there. This should be fun— after all, we are building dreams.

Our Elbow Coulee project won a Luxe Interiors + Design RED Award! "Log columns and steel beams seamlessly integrate a cantilevered outdoor pavilion into the architecture of this Winthrop, Washington, abode. The new alfresco living and dining spaces are separated by a custom double-sided fireplace." https://lnkd.in/grntizwr

Our Chewuch River project was an Archello House of the Month in April! A high, linear roof gestures emphatically toward the river and foothills beyond, forming a primary axis. A low, rectilinear form intersects, creating a distinctive cruciform plan that informs all design moves in this small home. https://lnkd.in/gzn-9bDP

“Ellie and Bob loved the land and, in particular, the wildflowers carpeting the ground beneath the trees, and wanted to ‘build in a way that would keep the integrity of that land as much as possible,’ Ellie said. They also loved Peterson-Aspholm’s aesthetic, and asked her to design their house.” Check out the latest Methow Home Issue for a spotlight on our Wildflower project (pg. 21), plus an interview with our principal, Margo Peterson-Aspholm, about the Methow Valley Building Science group (pg. 17.) https://lnkd.in/gpnPuZK6

"This is an extremely sophisticated and well resolved design. Drawing from local vernacular in both form and materiality, the design decisions and detailing elevate a seemingly simple building to an entirely different level. The resolution and integration of all building components, particularly the structure, result in inspiring and uplifting spaces." Jury comments from this year's AIA Spokane Design Awards, where the Winthrop Library won an Award of Honor. Johnston Architects Friends of the Winthrop Public Library https://lnkd.in/g5WmSQ-N
