A major boost to funding startups in Quantum Technologies!! In a landmark step for the country’s deep tech startup ecosystem, eight disruptive technology startups have been selected for support under the newly established guidelines of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India empowering India’s leadership in quantum technologies. The announcements of these startups were made by the Hon’ble Minister for Science and Technology Dr Jitendra Singh ji in the presence of Dr. VK Saraswat, Member NITI Aayog, Dr Kris Gopalakrishnan, Chairman Mission Governing Board, NM-ICPS, Dr Ajai Chowdhry, Chairman Mission Governing Board, National Quantum Mission, and other officials. Among the selected startups are Bengaluru Based QNu Labs, which is pioneering end-to-end quantum-safe networks. QpiAI India from Bengaluru is developing superconducting based quantum computer. Dimira, a Deep Tech startup is focusing on indigenous cryogenic I/O cables for quantum computers. Delhi based PrenishQ Pvt. Ltd. is specializing in high-precision diode laser systems for quantum technology applications. QuPrayog from Pune is working on Titanium Sapphire Lasers for Quantum Technologies and Optical Frequency Combs for ultraprecise measurements. Ahmedabad based Pristine Diamonds Private Limited is innovating advanced diamond materials for quantum sensing applications. Delhi based Quanastra is creating customizable cryogenics and advanced superconducting detectors. Bengaluru based Quan2D Technologies is focused on developing indigenous cost-effective single photon detectors. The startups were selected through a competitive process resulting from a call for proposals launched by the I-HUB Quantum Technology Foundation, the Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) set up at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune, under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical Systems #NMICPS to onboard startups focused on developing quantum technologies. By supporting startups at the forefront of this transformative field, India DST is laying the foundation for a robust quantum innovation ecosystem in the country demonstrating the collaborative spirit of government, academia, industry, startups and investors.
