Our mission is to harness the power of insurance to create a more just and habitable planet.

关于我们

Premiums for the Planet is a B Corp-licensed insurance brokerage that helps companies secure equal or better pricing, service, and coverage while driving more sustainable insurance practices. Every year, insurers collect over $7 trillion in premiums—but most companies have little control over how those funds are invested, often unknowingly supporting carbon-intensive and extractive industries that increase financial and climate risk. While businesses actively manage risk across supply chains, operations, and finance, insurance remains an untapped financial and impact lever. PFP empowers companies to take control of their insurance spend, reduce costs, and align with sustainability goals. The Risks of the Status Quo —Surging Premiums: Rates have risen at double-digit levels for five consecutive years. —Escalating Climate Losses: $100B+ in insured damages annually, with insurers passing these costs onto businesses. —Misaligned Investments: $650 billion in insurer investments fund industries that increase volatility and instability. How PFP Helps Companies Take Control ? Lower Costs & Reduce Volatility ? Minimize Hidden Financial Risks ? Align Insurance with Corporate Strategy How PFP Works 1?? Risk & Cost Review – We evaluate your insurance program to uncover savings and strategic opportunities. 2?? Seamless Transition – A simple Broker of Record change—no disruption to policies, pricing, or carriers. 3?? Leverage Market Power – Joining PFP’s network strengthens collective purchasing power, pushing insurers towards better investment and underwriting. Why PFP Is a No-Risk, High-Impact Move ? No Added Costs fees. ? No Coverage Disruptions ? Risk-Free Evaluation Join the Movement PFP makes it easy for companies to cut costs, reduce risk, and drive meaningful impact—without extra effort or expense. Why not get financial, strategic, and environmental value from money you're already spending?

Money moves the world—let’s make sure it’s moving in the right direction. This B Corp Month, we’re celebrating our fellow B Corps that are proving business can be a force for good—like Climate First Bank. As a values-based bank, Climate First ensures that deposits fund renewable energy and sustainable solutions, not industries that set us back. Thanks to their commitment to financing solar projects, they’ve reached $1 billion in assets—a testament to the power of aligning money with mission. At Premiums for the Planet, we believe in walking the talk—that’s why we trust Climate First with our own banking. Just like they’re reshaping finance, we’re rethinking insurance, making it easy for brands to ensure their premiums support a just, livable future. And lucky for us, they're also great people. Here's our Head of Partnerships Nick Gardner with Executive Chairman Kenneth LaRoe and his wife Dr. Cindy Laroe at last year's #ClimateWeekNYC. Want to bank where your values are? • Resilience in the Face of Change: The Future of Winter Business at #SIASummit The snowsports industry has always been defined by resilience—adapting to shifting consumer habits, evolving business models, and the ever-changing climate. But today, a new challenge looms large: the instability of the insurance market. As climate risks escalate, insurance costs are skyrocketing, and coverage is shrinking. For mountain towns and winter sports businesses, this isn’t just a financial burden—it’s an existential threat. If we want to safeguard the future of winter sports, we need collective action. That’s why we’re heading to the Snowsports Industries America Global Summit next week in Sundance, Utah—a place that knows firsthand how fragile economic ecosystems can be. With the recent news that the iconic Sundance Film Festival might leave Utah, it’s a stark reminder that no industry is immune to disruption. The same forces reshaping entertainment—risk, capital flow, and shifting priorities—are also affecting winter tourism and mountain economies. Sessions to Watch at SIA: ?? The Future of Winter Business – Where industry leaders Stacey Hutchinson of POWDR; Pete LaBore of Christy Sports; Ashley Laporte of Burton Snowboards; and Sergio Kiehl of Fischer Sports will explore challenges, opportunities, and the future of winter outdoors in a session moderated by SIA President Nick Sargent. Tuesday, March 25, from 10-11 a.m. ?? Creating a High-Performance Culture in a Changing World – Where Win Jeanfreau of iMpact Utah will present a discussion on how to navigate regulations, shifting demographics, and unpredictable snowfall with simple strategies to build resilient, high-performing teams. Wednesday, March 26, 11-11:45 a.m. We’re excited to join for these conversations—because insurance shouldn’t be an afterthought in the fight for winter’s future. If you’re attending and want to chat about de-risking winter businesses, let’s connect. Together, we can ensure winter remains not just a season, but a sustainable industry. #SIASummit #WinterBusiness #SnowsportsIndustry #InsuranceResilience #MountainTowns #CollectiveAction

  • ?? Regenerative agriculture is gaining traction, but let’s be real—scaling it isn’t just about passion. It’s about finance, risk, and making the right choices easier. • We hit Expo West Climate Day yesterday in full force, with Nick Gardner taking the stage alongside some incredible thought leaders. A huge shoutout again to our fellow panelists: Megan Westgate of Non-GMO Project, Ryan Pintado-Vertner of Smoketown, LLC, Tina Owens of Transformational Investing in Food Systems, and Lauren Tucker of The Almond Project. The big takeaway? The insurance model is broken for the ag & food space. But just like the non-GMO, fair trade, and sustainable packaging movements, industry-wide action can change that. It’s time to rally. Despite the challenges, the momentum is real. As Ryan put it, "We might have lost game 6, but we have game 7 at home—the time to act is now. The movement for a more sustainable future in food has never been stronger.” Of course, no great movement happens without great fuel—so a special thanks to Waffles, our Head of Wellness, for ensuring Expo West was properly powered by an elite waffle bar ????. • ??? We’re thrilled to be part of Climate Day at Natural Products #ExpoWest tomorrow, March 4, presented by our friends at The Climate Collaborative! With 600+ leaders from the grocery industry coming together, this event is all about driving climate action across food, beverage, and retail. At 2:45 PM PST in the Marquis Ballroom Center, our Head of Partnerships Nick Gardner will take the stage for "Industry Innovations and Critical Updates Driving Climate Action" alongside a stellar lineup: ?? Megan WestgateNon-GMO Project ?? Ryan Pintado-VertnerSmoketown, LLC ?? Tina OwensTransformational Investing in Food Systems (TIFS) ?? Lauren Tucker – The Almond Project Nick will be diving into a critical but often overlooked challenge: insurance as a barrier to scaling regenerative agriculture. ?? Here’s the issue: Regenerative agriculture builds climate resilience, strengthens supply chains, and meets rising consumer demand. But financial infrastructure—especially insurance—isn’t keeping pace. Outdated risk models and underwriting gaps make it difficult and costly for businesses and farmers to secure coverage for climate-smart practices. ?? The opportunity? Rethinking insurance as a tool for climate action. By shifting how businesses approach their financial supply chains, we can drive policy innovation, unlock better coverage for climate-aligned companies, and turn insurance from a barrier into a catalyst for sustainable solutions. If you're at Climate Day, don’t miss this conversation! Let’s rethink risk and unlock the full potential of regenerative agriculture—together. ???? #ExpoWest #ClimateDay #RegenerativeAgriculture #SustainableFinance #PremiumsForThePlanet cc: Courtney Pineau, Caitlin Oleson, Mad Agriculture, B Lab U.S. & Canada

  • Your money shouldn't fuel the climate crisis. But if you have insurance, a bank account, or a retirement fund, there's a good chance it does. That’s why we’re thrilled to see Protect Our Winters tackling this head-on in their latest blog post: https://lnkd.in/e_zCqdTd A special shoutout to our friends at Carbon Collective for leading the charge on climate-first investing, and to Topo Finance for their game-changing banking emissions calculator, which allows you to uncover the dirt on your bank and find cleaner, greener alternatives. Also excellent job by Jason Parkin of PFP member company Compose[d] for nailing the UI/UX of the calculator, making it easier than ever for businesses to see their financial impact. If you’re ready to align your money with your values, this guide is a must-read. Huge thanks to Ryan Laemel, COO of POW, for including Premiums for the Planet in the conversation! #ClimateFinance #DivestYourDollars #PremiumsForThePlanet #ImpactInvesting

  • The challenge of finding a good photo of our Founder and CEO Brad Stevenson? He’s mid-hug in most of them. Classic Brad. His heart is as big as his ambition to save the planet, and we’re all better for it. One of the greatest privileges of working with Brad is witnessing his leadership up close. He has a rare ability to truly listen—not just to what’s said, but to what’s unsaid. He leads with courage, compassion, and an unshakable commitment to doing the right thing, even when it’s hard. Brad also knows that solving the world’s biggest challenges takes collective action—no one wins these battles alone. He fosters trust, honesty, and bold innovation, empowering those around him to think bigger and push further. He’s not just a leader; he’s the kind of steadfast friend and advocate you want in your corner—through the highs, the lows, and even the mundane in-betweens. Above all, he never fails to put one's humanity first. His leadership shapes how we make all of our decisions, leading to a unique work culture that we all genuinely love. Brad, we hope you have the happiest of birthdays and know how deeply we appreciate you. The world is better with you in it—and we’re beyond grateful to have you leading this charge (and handing out all those legendary hugs). #Leadership #Innovation #PremiumsForThePlanet #HappyBirthdayBrad

  • It was a tough pill to swallow for most of our team, but let’s be honest—the most beloved member of the Premiums for the Planet squad has always been our Head of Wellness, Waffles. • The Premiums for the Planet team has decided to start microdosing (or, where appropriate, macrodosing) on optimism lately—celebrating moments of innovation, progress, impact, and accessible joy wherever we can find it. So why not start with our own team? ?? Our brilliant Head of Insurance, Ann Boger, has been nominated for the Insure! Influence! Impact! award in the “Silo Smasher” category by CoVerse Communications. Frankly, we’re not even a little surprised.
