?? Let's Talk About Shuttles ?? . . Our team has been working hard to get these shuttles packaged up and ready to send to one of our customers before the end of the year. . . We aren't always privvy to the application of the parts we make, however, these shuttles are likely part of a level wind mechanism used on winches or windlasses for handling ropes, cables, or chains. . . Their role would be to guide and distribute the material evenly onto a drum as it is wound or unwound—critical for maintaining tension and preventing tangling during operations like mooring, towing, or anchoring. . . The choice of material, such as bronze or brass, is perfect for the marine environment due to its resistance to corrosion and wear.
