This actress co-invented a groundbreaking frequency-hopping technology that laid the foundation for modern Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS! ???? Born in Austria as Hedwig Eva Maria Kiesler, she gained international fame after starring in the controversial 1933 film Ecstasy. During World War II, Lamarr, along with composer George Antheil, developed a secret communication system to prevent enemy ships from jamming torpedo signals in 1941. • Maggie Lena Walker’s leadership brought stability, support, and steadfastness to banking and economic empowerment. ?? Her rise began in 1899 when she led the Independent Order of St. Luke (IOSL), founded in 1867, to promote financial literacy, self-sufficiency, and Black business. To spread these ideas, she launched The St. Luke Herald in 1902, advocating financial independence, racial equality, and gender empowerment. ↗? Under Walker, the IOSL expanded to offer insurance, jobs, and financial services. In 1903, she founded St. Luke Penny Savings Bank, providing Black Americans access to savings, homeownership, and business loans—opportunities denied by mainstream banks. That year, she became the first Black woman to charter a U.S. bank and the first woman of any race to be its president. ?? In 1905, she opened the St. Luke Emporium, creating jobs and economic growth. Her bank later merged in 1929 to form Consolidated Bank and Trust, now the oldest continuously Black-owned bank in the U.S.?? Despite discrimination, Walker proved success was possible, breaking barriers and championing financial security as the path to freedom and future business leaders. Her legacy stands as a testament to economic empowerment driving progress! #WomensHistoryMonth #HerStory #WomenWhoLead?

  • Jane Bolin’s path to success was not an easy one, but she defied the odds through perseverance and intelligence. ?? She was one of the few Black students at Wellesley College, where she graduated among the top of her class. Despite facing racism and gender discrimination, she was accepted into Yale Law School, becoming its first Black female graduate in 1931. After earning her law degree, she worked as an attorney before serving as an assistant corporate counsel for New York City, becoming the first Black woman in that role. Her impressive legal career and advocacy for racial and social justice led to her historic judicial appointment. ?? In 1939, Bolin made history as the first Black female judge in the United States when she was appointed to the New York City Domestic Relations Court (now known as Family Court). Her appointment shattered racial and gender barriers in the legal profession. ?? Throughout her four-decade judicial career, Bolin dedicated herself to protecting children and families, ensuring fair treatment in the legal system. She actively fought against racial discrimination, working to integrate child services, end segregation in foster care, and reform hiring practices in publicly funded agencies. She believed the law should serve as a tool for justice rather than oppression, implementing reforms that improved the lives of underprivileged families. Her groundbreaking achievements and legacy paved the way for future generations and continues to inspire emerging lawyers! ?? #WomensHistoryMonth #HerStory #WomenWhoLead

  • ?? Is Your Social Media Making You a Target? ?? Read This Before You Post! Social media makes it easy to share important moments—but did you know that real-time posting can put you at risk? Criminals are watching and use social media to track when you’re away, whether for work, emergencies, family loss, or personal travel. A prime example is Kim Kardashian’s 2016 Paris robbery, which happened after she posted about her $10 million jewelry collection in real-time. More recently, NFL stars like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Joe Burrow had their homes burglarized, with law enforcement warning that criminals likely tracked their movements online. ?? Don’t let your time away—whether for business or personal reasons—make you a target. Here’s how to stay safe: ? Delay Your Posts: Share photos after you return. ? Avoid Location Tags: Don’t broadcast your whereabouts in real time. ? Keep Valuables Private: Skip showing off expensive items online. ? Turn Off Geotagging: Your phone may tag your location automatically—disable this feature. ? Limit Who Sees Your Posts: Use privacy settings and share only with trusted contacts. ? Be Mindful of Strangers Online: Be cautious of people asking about your travel plans. ?? Bottom Line: Criminals don’t need to follow you in person—they just need to follow your posts to know when your home is empty. Be smart. Stay safe. Post wisely. ?? Tag a friend who needs to hear this! ???? #DigitalSafety #SocialMediaTips #StaySafe #Cybersecurity
