When families and educators collaborate, the possibilities for children’s success are limitless. That’s why family engagement is at the core of the Pre-K 4 SA approach. Partners in Learning Academies provide families and staff with meaningful opportunities to break down communication barriers, build trust, and strengthen relationships that support children’s learning both in and out of the classroom. Discover how these workshops fostered a culture of collaboration and helped build stronger connections between families and educators in our latest blog below. https://bit.ly/3QE7EQr #PreK4SA #FamilyEngagement #EarlyLearning

At Pre-K 4 SA, we are committed to honoring the past, uplifting voices in the present, and fostering a future where history and culture are celebrated year-round. We asked our team, "What does Black History Month mean to you?" and Charnise Johnson, Administrative Assistant, shared her perspective: ?? “A melanated life is all I know as every month is Black History Month. Malcolm X, Nelson Mandela, and Harriet Tubman are household names during this month; but what about the unspoken forerunners like Judy Reed, Matthew Henson, Princess Sophia Charlotte, Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler, James Derham, or Max Robinson? The contributing parties of the past help shape and cultivate the opportunities for the parties of the future. I am appreciative of the prospective outcomes when we, as a people, seek to do our best to find the best in others; not just for ourselves, but for all those who will be impacted by our actions.” #BlackHistoryMonth #PreK4SA #SanAntonio

Creativity flourishes when children have the autonomy to explore, build, and imagine. Our Extended Day program recently hosted an engaging hands-on activity in the Family Café at the West Center, where families discovered the power of loose parts play. Using materials like playdough, popsicle sticks, and pom poms, children created unique designs, learning through experimentation and open-ended play. With nearly 50 families participating, this event was a beautiful example of how hands-on learning nurtures creativity and expands possibilities in early childhood education. ?? #PreK4SA #EarlyChildhoodEducation #HandsOnLearning #CreativityInAction

Black History Month is an opportunity to reflect on the strength, resilience, and contributions of the Black community—past, present, and future. At Pre-K 4 SA, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment where history is honored, voices are heard, and personal stories are shared. We asked our staff, "What does Black History Month mean to you?" Kimberly Burrell, Extended Day Coordinator at South Center, shared: “It is Pride!!! Being part of a culture that has overcome so many challenges and never let that stop us from striving to be more. I am a proud mother of 5 young Black men and every accomplishment I’ve done in life has been for them and because of them.” Throughout the month, we’ll continue sharing reflections from our team to celebrate the importance of Black History Month. Follow along as we highlight the voices that make a difference.
