?? The PREDIS project has come to a close, after 4-years of collaboration with over 500 people involved.?Thanks to everyone for your involvement, both as partners and interested end-users and stakeholders, for advancing safe and sustainable solutions for radioactive waste management! ?? Watch the PREDIS summary video at https://lnkd.in/dJRYc935. This video gives a snapshot of the project, while greater details can be found on the final webinar recorded live (see details here https://lnkd.in/drPmRP8b) and full details of outcomes available on the project web page (https://predis-h2020.eu/). #PREDIS #EURATOM #radioactivewaste #lowlevelradioactivewaste #radioactivewastemanagement
关于我们
The PREDIS project started 1.9.2020 with four years duration. The consortium includes 47 partners from 18 Member States. The PREDIS project develops and increases the Technological Readiness Level of treatment and conditioning methodologies for wastes for which no adequate or industrially mature solutions are currently available, including metallic materials, liquid organic waste and solid organic waste. PREDIS project specifically targets Radioactive Waste Producers (RWP) as a separate group within the radioactive waste management process. PREDIS high-level objectives are to: Develop solutions (methods, processes, technologies and demonstrators) for future treatment and conditioning of waste across a number of MSs for which no industrially mature or inadequate solutions are currently available, improving safety during next waste management steps; or improve existing solutions with safer, cheaper or more effective alternative processes where they bring measurable benefits to several MSs (Member States). Analyse criteria, parameters and specifications for materials and packages with associated Waste Acceptance Criteria (WAC) for pre-disposal and disposal activities, supporting homogenisation of waste management processes across Europe.

? PREDIS Case Studies are now available for reading! ?? While developing detailed publications, PREDIS also wanted to spread the new knowledge in less technical and thus more accessible for non-experts formats. Each PREDIS Case Study presents a brief overview of the developed and tested technology or solution together with the main innovation aspects and the ways the proposed solution addresses the end user needs or advances the waste management field. PREDIS proudly presents four Case Studies: ?? Radioactive solid organic waste immobilisation in geopolymers authored by VTT ?? Radioactive liquid organic waste immobilisation in geopolymers authored by SCK CEN, National Nuclear Laboratory and The University of Sheffield ?? Metallic waste conditioning in magnesium phosphate cement authored by CNRS ?? Network of small affordable sensors for monitoring waste packages authored by Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung ?? ? What is the impact and value of implementing novel technologies? Dive into the series of PREDIS Value Assessment reports to learn more about economic, environmental and safety impacts of novel technologies for radioactive waste management developed within PREDIS. ?? For the rigorous and robust impact assessment, value was considered across the full waste management lifecycle from planning to decommissioning. Thanks to the workshops facilitated by PREDIS partners SCK CEN, Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung and Galson Sciences Limited, multiple scenarios of combinations of novel technologies have been evaluated against the current practices together with other PREDIS partners and end users. ?? Led by PREDIS partner Galson Sciences Limited, four assessment reports are now available for reading: ?? Synthesis report on management of metallic waste streams at https://lnkd.in/d2ThX9xb ?? Disposability assessment report for direct conditioning of radioactive liquid organic wastes at https://lnkd.in/dTKcMphM ?? Economic, environmental and disposability impacts of novel treatment technologies for low-level and intermediate-level solid organic wastes at https://lnkd.in/dCPFU--n ?? Economic, environmental and safety impact of the pre-disposal monitoring, modelling and decision framework technologies for cemented waste packages at https://lnkd.in/dZWbzUDS ?? See more insights in the reports above and in the public presentation by Jenny K. of Galson Sciences Limited at PREDIS Final conference in June 2024 at https://lnkd.in/djNjXp9H. #PREDIS #EURATOM #radioactivewaste #lowlevelradioactivewaste #radioactivewastemanagement

Was fun to share yesterday about our EU-Project PREDIS’s accomplishments over the 4 years, driven by industry and end user needs. Next month you can see the summary video outcome!
Viikko k?ynnistyi kiinnostavilla kuvauksilla maan alla ja syv?ll? sen uumenissa, kun p??simme tutustumaan VTT:n koordinoimaan EU-Project PREDISiin. Nelivuotisessa hankkeessa asiantuntijat ovat kehitt?neet uusia teknologioita radioaktiivisen j?tteen k?sittelyyn turvallisemmin, ymp?rist?yst?v?llisemmin ja tehokkaammin. Kiitos VTT:n Erika Holt ja National Nuclear Laboratoryn Anthony Banford vieraanvaraisuudesta ja projektin saavutusten avaamisesta! ??
