As we launch PRC’s Year-End Fundraising Campaign, we’re sharing stories like Basil’s—stories that show how much your support means. At sixteen, Basil bravely came out to his family, choosing to live authentically despite knowing it meant losing their support. The trauma he faced led to years of self-medicating and addiction. Thanks to PRC—and the generosity of donors like you—Basil found hope. Through PRC’s programs, he rebuilt his life, gained confidence, and rediscovered his purpose. Today, Basil is paying it forward and helping others on their recovery journeys. Your support helped make this transformation possible. Join us in ensuring more people can find hope and healing. Read Basil’s story and be part of this life-changing work. Together, we can create more stories of resilience and transformation.?
关于我们
PRC is a new $30-million San Francisco nonprofit formed through the merger of Positive Resource Center, Baker Places, and AIDS Emergency Fund. Leveraging a 50-year legacy of community service, PRC is focused on ending homelessness and improving the quality of life in the City by removing social barriers to good health and financial stability. Through PRC’s uniquely integrated legal, social, and health services each year more than 5,000 people are building income, getting healthy, and staying housed. The mission of PRC is to help people affected by HIV/AIDS, substance use, or mental health issues better realize opportunities by providing integrated legal, social, and health services that address the broad range of social risk factors that impact wellness and limit potential.

Today, on #TransgenderDayofRemembrance, we?celebrate the strong trans women, sex workers, and LGBTQIA+ community? who retaliated against police brutality at the Compton’s Cafeteria Riot in 1966. Their community advocacy brought visibility to transgender issues in and beyond San Francisco, informing the inception of the National Transsexual Counseling Unit (NTCU), the world’s first peer-run counseling program. Here at PRC, we build upon that passion of grassroots community care through our own Lift Up peer counseling program, legal advocacy, and community outreach for people living with HIV, people experiencing substance use disorder, and people living with mental health issues. We stand in solidarity with our trans siblings on this day of remembrance. Photo credit: Tenderloin Museum and SF Chronicle

This past Saturday, PRC volunteers transformed Robertson Place as part of our Healing Spaces Initiative! ? On November 9th, eleven incredible volunteers donated their time and energy to bring new life to the kitchen and dining areas with a fresh coat of paint. These spaces aren’t just rooms—they’re places for community, comfort, and healing for the residents we support every day. A huge thank you to everyone who joined in to make Robertson Place even more welcoming and warm. ?? ? Thinking of joining us for our next volunteer event? Building strong partnerships in the community is a big piece of our work to create a San Francisco that works for everyone. One such partnership we're grateful to have is that of June Hong and Marsh McLennan Agency. Beyond our benefits administration, MMA continues to find ways to support our staff and vision. June, pictured left, had this to say about her experience accepting our Outstanding Corporate Partner Award during Mighty Real earlier this month: "I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible journey we've shared, from my initial outreach on submitting the PRC for the Barney & Barney Foundation nomination, culminating in receiving the Outstanding Corporate Partner Award on behalf of MMA at The Mighty Real event. It truly was a joyous experience! Accepting that award was one of the most memorable moments of my life, and I deeply appreciate the opportunity to represent MMA. I look forward to our on-going partnership with you and PRC!" We appreciate MMA and the Barney and Barney Foundation for their trust and support they've expressed through this recognition.
